1st attempt at a complete story in 300 words
Juan had been dating Joan for a few months now... and was becoming attached, yet there was something holding him back and he was pretty sure what it was... Baby daddy was coming to visit, he wanted to see how they were together, his girl and baby daddy that is. see if they were over each other or not. a good thing to know before committing.

Joe arrived right on schedule, Joan was obviously not over him but was at least trying to hide it from him. but interestingly enough, not from me. Intros were intros... i left them to it. walking away i knew what was up, it was something in their eyes, maybe, or it was just me getting better at spotting it over the years. people had attempted to gain his money on several occasions. it was just part of the deal. The difference this time was that I caught it fast and they also had something to lose, something i could use as a bargaining chip or for leverage.

Juan looked down the barrel of Joe's gun, glad that it was a revolver so that he could see the chambers had been emptied as he as paid them to be "you could pull the trigger, but then the envelope gets delivered". I could see the anger flash his eyes, Joe knew he was fucked. He knew that the planning was to no eval. that i had gotten the best of his scheme to screw me of my money. instead i screwed his girl at his willing...

Its been about 6 months since I'd last seen Joan, she had appeared attesting that she was done with Joe... for good this time. I still wonder if that's true, she seemed to believe it herself this time.

I was with the wealthiest woman in Vegas. i had had so much fun grifting the grifters that i decided i would give it a run myself. Surely if the likes of Joe could almost make a living at it, i can succeed at it. he looks at Julie and catches her trying to look into his soul ...or will he.
