A trippy poem about breaking another who appears more perfect than what is possible. |
-Her Darker Side- by Keaton Foster Once I knew a girl I called her world Now she has another name Stranger full of anger Creature with a crooked finger Pointing it in my direction Judgment for the judgmental Accusations based on fact She never stood a chance And neither did I For a time I used to see her every day Under the same sun Such a radiant brightness And unparalleled requietness She would give And I would take She would love And I would pretend She would care And I would not Her darker side Was a hidden treasure trove Of capable madness And incomprehensible sadness Just waiting to be exposed I should have known better I should have allowed her to escape But in a wilderness of victims She was absolutely perfect Such perfection begs to be destroyed I could not allow her to be The opposite of everything I breed I had to take her to the depths Her darker side Had to be exposed I had to let all others know Such a creature is an illusion A fortress built upon a failing foundation One heavy hit in the right spot One well-placed charge of excess Would bring it all down From a masterpiece of what is To a pile of what once was For me such a thing As destroying her everything Came easy enough… Her Darker Side Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
