Relief

I can't believe how happy I am
How genuine my smile is, stretching from ear to ear.
I bellow when I laugh, hearing me from thousands of miles away.
I'm just so elated that we've gone our separate ways.

I don't long for your attention or affection anymore,
At last I've managed to completely close the door.

I'm standing tall and strong on my own two feet.
You can just sense the happiness beginning to secrete.
Whether it's through my smile, jokes, laugh or demeanor,
On this side the grass truly is greener.

I hope you're able to do the same as I,
But I don't believe you'll be able to reach such a high.
Just knowing that I'll be okay, all on my own,
Now I am truly the queen to her throne.

I'm strong, independent and free,
I definitely don't need a man, because I have me.

Now that you're gone, I'm successful and so much better,
Constantly working hard and stacking that cheddar.
I'm really astonished at what I've done so far,
Each day I'm just raising and raising the bar.

You were just a thorn in my side, so happy I took you out,
Now it's just me, all me it's about.
I'm not going to whine, pout and cry in hopes that you'll come back,
Because my mindset is for my future, ready to attack.
