Alone
Not home
Somewhere
Someplace
Unseen
Unknown
No concern
Not a one
How could I dare
Life
An impossible scare
The closer we get
Further apart we seem
Strangers in desperate love
People doing what they must
Survival, our one true constant
Using each other
Using ourselves
Taking what we need
Refusing to give any more
Clutching onto everything less
Bedlam blossoms
Full on, into madness
Screaming how could you
As we both do the same
Love and hatred
Are closer than they seem
I came here
Walking away from her
From us
I wanted to be alone
An eternal escape
That won’t last
I will be driven back
Not by my emotions
But by desperate need
She knows that she has me
In her clutches I bleed
A mess of two hearts
That from the start
Knew there was no spark
But rather a unified front
Against not being apart
The need, quickening it seemed
Overtaking all reason
All logic
In love we believed
Until all that we believed
Was gone
Now we just need
Each other
Or so it does seem
Bedlam blossoms
A terrifying flower unpicked
Rooted in all that we are
And all that we are not
The world around us
Is sadly falling apart
In shambles we live
Together as I
Devoid of you sit here
Thinking, expressing
Understanding that we
You and I
And our love is
And has always been
Doomed...
