The Ruminations of a love struck teenager. To be young!
I try to fall asleep at night,
But my thoughts keep taking flight.
My mind keeps wandering about,
The girl who has my heart, no doubt.
It seems that she is always there.
It seems to me I’ll always care.
For even if she does not feel
The love, of which I swear, is real
I’d wait for her until she sees
That she’s the only one for me
Her smile is like the stars at night
Her face I’d choose to have in sight
Her heart has always been so pure
My heart aches and she is the cure.
She’s someone no one can replace,
For in my heart she is first place.
Whene’er I see her, my heart soars;
She is the key to my heart’s door
The night’s end is approaching fast,
I hope to have some rest at last.
But it would be a lie to say
That I wouldn’t think of her at day.
Or when I close my eyes tonight,
From black of dusk until dawn’s light
It is of her, my thought ‘bout
Even in my dreams, there is no doubt.
