A timeline of life from birth to your teenage years, written on impulse in one night.
You're a teenager
You're looking back, thinking
What did you do right, and what wrong
Memories come back
You laugh at good times, and sulk in your mistakes

-You close your eyes and visualize-

You are born
Every day is something new
You don't see black, white, fat, skinny
You bask in the blissful ignorance
You close your eyes, tired, and drift to sleep...

-Your eyes snap open-

You are a child, innocent
You see the world more as it is
Still you are happy, unworried
The days pass by faster
You want to grow up

-You turn around-

Suddenly you're in junior high
Relationships strengthen, bonds form
Life proves to be challenging
You stress over the opposite sex
You realize things that you've never considered important

-You wake up suddenly-

You're in high school
Times move faster than before
You become an independent individual
You're tired
School and social stresses weigh down on your shoulders

-You're at school-

Your face is red
Plagued with oily bumps that battle back your confidence
Your radiance, your personality stays hidden
Welcoming grins appear to you as condescending smirks
Every glance from a friend forces you to look at your feet, mortified over your insecurities

-You see her-

You've wanted her for years
You have tried replacing her, never successful
Every time she sees you, she smiles, a bright beautiful beam directed towards you alone
You hide from her, afraid of what will come of her knowing you closely
You maintain a distant friendship, terrified of trying for more and losing what you have

-You're back home-

You're alone
Free to do what you want and think about your troubles
You lay silent
You know tomorrow will be the same
You think about past experiences

-You close your eyes and visualize-
