All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Thus, all of us are guilty. |
Guilty but Free I bowed my head in shame, When the judge asked me, “Sir, how do you plead?” Just above a whisper I said, “Guilty your honor, I’m as guilty as can be.” Shame and remorse Swept over me, I’m guilty as can be. “I have no choice”, The judge replied “I must sentence you to death.” Hot tears streamed down my wretched face My shoulders began to shake, My stomach tied in nauseating knots! My heart cried out, “I’m lost! I’m lost! I’m lost! For all eternity I’m lost! All strength left my body, I fell upon my knees, I cried, “Dear Jesus please forgive me! I’m as guilty as can be!” The judge picked up his gavel, about to slam it down. When a man appeared from no where! Dressed in spotless white! He looked at the judge and said, “Father, don’t condemn this man, I died to set him free!” He put his arms around me, Lifting me off the floor, Jesus looked me and said, “You’re pardoned, my grace has set you free! I paid the price on Calvary, When they hung me on that tree!” He held me in a long embrace, His love washed over me, I was guilty, but free! Rick J. Musick March 20, 2012 6:48 A.M. |
