A wild trip down the road of purpose and meaning and how everything that is will not be. |
-Everything Will Escape- by Keaton Foster Everything will escape You and me Us The sun and the moon Darkness and pain Hope and joy Every one of our Justifiable rewards And our token treasures of achievement Scars created from ailments Always hurting just because Loving out of desperation Alone none of us want to be Yet most alone we often seem Doing what it takes will no longer be Doing what must be done will matter none All of it All of this Will mean nothing Obliteration Through our decisions Ones that cannot be taken back Or made right We are people Joined at the hip But separated by birth Cardboard cutouts Carbon copies Defective from the get A hell of a thing to lament But there is Beautiful, unadulterated truth Everything will escape Everything will be set free Into the ether Far past the heavens above Way beyond the hell below Out into the depths of darkness Beyond all known concepts Rationale will mean nothing Such simple minded beings We were never meant to know Bliss through ignorance Bankrupt knowledge As always holding no value Superlative in every way Just like each one of us Have been and will become Excuse the harshness I use to believe that we were special And thus specialty was a possibility But certainly that is not true Life is the table upon which we all feast Our gullets are full Overstuffed we have become Meanness quickly turned kindness And back again Individualism turned collectiveness And back again Dare I say not out of choice But rather out of our case Spoken minds will be made silent No opinions or ideals will be needed Everything will escape Everything will be set free Leaving this place Out into the ether An ever-expansive wilderness Of incredulous blackness Made by us and for us Because in life we continually fight to believe That our death will be something more Than the nothing that it will be Everything will escape Out of every shape Into an expansive vastness With no shape at all… Everything Will Escape Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
