A tree talks to a samara; it’s about freedom.
Samaras Are Free

Edited by Livingston County Writers & Critics Support Group

The gnarled tree asked the brown Samara, “Where have you been today? Have you been to the green forest where there are many bushes and trees? Have you been to the country with all its beautiful sunny lanes?”
The Samara answered in no uncertain terms, “I have been where the wild
winds blow me and life is very busy. I need to remember to fly away from squirrels and birds who want to devour me. I want to be free and go where I want to go. On a beautiful day, I’ll go to heights and far away places that I don’t know.”
