For the WDC Birthday Bash, a couplet. |
Once there lived a pretty small girl Whose stepmother was but a churl. Her black hair was smooth as satin. She had a beautiful fair skin. Her stepmother was envious And her actions were villanous. One day she gave her an orange Which was of a color bit strange. A doubt struck her and she threw it. Hurling the orange in a pit. The witch stepmother came to know And she wanted a deadly show. So she cooked a poisonous broth Which was sizzling and full of froth. She served it with a spatula. She hunted her like a cheetah. All her wild attempts fizzled out When suspicion made Alice flout. Pouring it under a willow tree, The clever girl wanted to flee. She followed a footprint and ran And a new adventure began. At night she found a dark, queer cave From which a music made her rave. A group of elves resided there. Her joy and pain they used to share. One day a handsome prince arrived. All her glee he gladly revived. He took her in a trolley car, She lived like the wife of a czar. 30 lines Form: Couplet SHOW US YOUR INVENTIVENESS Odd as it seems these are the gifts given this year, but, what are their stories?
