A twisted poem about lessons learned and how I pass them on via my crafted words.

These hands
Of a nothing man
Rattle and shake
Trembling over all
That they have done
Many of lives
Have been touched
By these fingertips
Many of hearts
Have been crushed
By their grip
Death has come
Death has gone
Darkness remains
Lesser I seem
Incapable I scream
Truth is all that I bleed
These words
My token Gods
Paying my way
Through life
Just until death
Cost me everything
All around
In every conceivable direction
The gates are closed
Prison bars stand tall
I am an animal in a cage
Who has the only key
Deep within this mind
Tied to my spine
The framework of who I am
And what I’ve become
Has been built upon my bones
Weaker they have come to be
The immense weight of my case
Such an incapable burden
That must be lived
Has long since been dealt
I do what I know I must
What my mind tells me so
Reality and lucidity are closely linked
Such a primal instinct lives
Lesser I seem
More and more I bleed
My insides turn out
Bewildering doubt no longer fills
The cavity where my heart should be
Instead absolution breeds
Identity screams
Hear me through these words
The actions of a man penned
So that many can learn
Such lessons are brutal
Sure to never forget
The mistakes that I’ve made
Remembrance turned confession
Not all are mistakes
Most are what I was sure
That I needed to do
Lesser I seem
But indeed more I can be…
