A fictional idea that came into my head after listening to a certain country song.
...
Hey mom how’s it going?

Me? I’m doing fine. How is everyone else?

That’s good.

What’s that? Everyone misses me? Well I don’t know what to say about that. You know we all have to wait until that time comes.

Oh don’t start crying. It only makes it harder to keep going.

Really? Well take care of them since I’m not there.

What’s that?

Oh don’t say that death comes for us all at some point. It was bound to happen.

I’m not being heartless. It’s just easier for us all if we say it like that.

You don’t say? Man it’s too bad we’re separated by life and death. I’d go give them a hug right now.

You don’t know that. I don’t think you understand what it’s like.

You do not know how it is. Jeez, you’re starting to sound like dad.

Yes you do. He was always saying stuff like that.

I’m tired.

I can be tired. Just because I’m down doesn’t mean I can’t be tired.

I would tell you to ask him to stop crying, but I don’t think you have that authority.

Well I would hope so. I wouldn’t want you to stay with some mean old demon.

Tell him thank you. In fact tell everyone thank you. They’ve all helped me so much.

I know mom, I know. I wish I could be up there with all of you, but I’ve still got things to do down here. Besides you can’t be too early to heaven.

I love you too mom. I have to go to now. I’ll be there with all of you one day. Then we can talk for all eternity. But until then, I’ll… I’ll miss everyone and I’ll keep you in my thoughts, even if it kills me.

Bye.
