Silent
You must remain
Refrain from speaking
Let no sound escape
Betray your ways
Say nothing more to hurt me
Not another word
Just turn and walk away
Betray the love made
Easily tear it down
Lay it all to waste
Forget our once beautiful shape
Crushed under the weight
Applied
By both you and I
And the mistakes we’ve made
Hate me
If that is what it takes
I will resist such a way
I will continue to love you
Because it’s all that I have
Nothing else is truly mine
My heart will be gone
Sunken too far down
In a constant state of fall
It will never rise again
It will never feel another
How could it ever
You are my only one
I will write you many songs
I will pen you many poems
All of them will be about you and I
But none of them will get us
Back to where we belong
Never speak
Is all that I can say
Turn and walk away
Watching you go will be hard
Damn near impossible
But what choice do I have
You assured me that
There is no chance
Such assurances I believe
I did what I could
And for a brief time
That was enough
Now the cup is both
Half full and almost empty
In the middle is where
I will always remain
Loving you as you no longer
Love me in any possible way
I will be sad for only myself
When you manage to find another
Until then, like a sickened fool
Standing upon the stoop of death
I will retain a semblance of hope
No one will know but me
No one will see that in you
I leave all the love
That I could have ever wished
To be so capable of…
