A very religious poem about what God left behind for us.

From the sky
From the sea
Beyond the trees
Beyond the sand
Once came a man
Down from the
Mountains up high
A supreme being
Disguised
No one knew
How could they ever
At first he did nothing
Except live
Such a human predicament
In time
When the need became quite apparent
He began to do more
He began to get noticed
People stopped
People listened
Hanging on every word
No one dared call him absurd
They wanted something to believe
And he gave it to them
They followed his ways
They believed in his cause
Spread far and wide
Across a billion lives
His message of peace was heard
He asked for only one thing
One absolute in return
Faith in him and his words
In time the wrong men
Heard his message of right
Jealous of his clout
They sought him out
Through trickery they forced
The hand of another
Someone quite close
To the man turned something more
A God in a once seemingly godless universe
He did not beg for mercy
He only spoke of his love
And his own power to believe
In something more than himself
As they nailed him to the cross
They pierced his flesh
And bled his mortal life
Transcendence was guaranteed
Without fear he joined those
Who believed in all that he spoke
Jesus and the father of us all
Are one and the same
God left behind
What remains to this day
A message of peace
That at times we forget
The good book reminds us
But only if we read it
Only if we know the stories told
And the truths sown
I am no perfect Christian
But I am a man that understands
That to be perfect at something
You have to follow the examples shown
And live in a way that shows
You understand what it means
To be part of something beyond
Your own flesh and bones…
