Notrd to myself |
I've been watching Rawhide re-runs almost religiously for awhile. I think I was too young to actually remember anything about the whow. I think my father probably watched it when I was little. It feels good to me to watch Rawhide. It's a pleasant association for me. Plus, I've been watching for so many months now, I study it like an art form. I see cameos/starring roles of other actors of the time, and it's quite interesting. Mr Spock made a great Indian before he was Mister Spock. Darrin Stephens was a cowboy too. This is the sort of thing I choose to study. Is there a doctorate degree in there anywhere hiding? I noticed in the past week that the name of the producer changed. It's always been Charles Marquis Warren--I remember because of the Marquis. At any rate, his name has disappeared in the past weeks' shows. There are two entirely new producers to the show. One name is familiar because he produced the Fugitive Series; his name was Bruce Geller. The writing of the stories is a bit different too. This must have been done later on because Rowdy gets away with shit and doesn't kiss Favor's boots so much. What I saw today makes me wonder if I'm imagining things. There's the Incident of whatever, where bounty hunters join the cattle drive to try to find a white girl that the Indians have been holding. Rowdy ends up in love with the blonde girl I first saw this plot with. This was the same plot, but the actress was definitely younger, and she never said she planned to marry the Indian chief. But it was the exact same plot, just a couple of different actors. That's the first time I've ever seen that on a series. |
