Parents, grammar is the link between children and their world.  Grammar is the science of language and the art of communication.

Even math skills depend on Grammar.  How?  Math has a vocabulary that explains all things numerical.

In our daily lives, all ages of people are being encouraged into social activity on computers, phones, I pads and electronic readers.  It is easy to stay in touch with friends and relatives. It is so easy the U.S. Postal Service is slowing down. You can carry 10 books in a side pocket of a coat or purse because they only weigh a few ounces. 

The communication age is causing a driving need for proper writing and interpretation skills. We need to clarify, decipher and decode the written word daily.
         
When children learn grammar early they learn critical thinking for themselves and they learn to think about what they are saying.

Take the first step to become a philogist.  A philogist is a teacher of grammar.  As your child’s teacher you will carry the action. As a parent, you will have to be a wholehearted supporter of grammar to prevail.

“How to Teach English Grammar to Children,” on www.ehow.com recommends a book called “Eats, Shoots and Leaves,” and has many other suggestions. When you surf, you can find grammar games, plays or grammar music for ages 1 to adult available.

Another website with free teaching help available is the website www.teachingenglishgames.com.  Shelly Ann Vernon’s ebook, “176 English Language Games for Children” is offered there for purchase. Vernon also offers free flashcards, games and mp3 songs for grammar instruction and other teacher helps at this site.
