This poem is about people that I loved at that time of my life especially romance.
I don’t know what to think
I can’t imagine what to feel
But I hope I can make sense
Of what’s fantasy and what’s real
Because I feel like I’ve got choices
I’m not sure what’s the deal
But maybe one day I’ll figure out
Just what it is I feel

I want to open up my heart
But at the same time I’m afraid
To let go of my guard too much
I need some guidance and aid
I yearn for the loving touch
Of someone but who is the question

I’m at the point where I’m comparing guys
Who I’ve just met or known awhile
I want to be honest-no telling lies
But I don’t wish to hurt anyone
I have to be careful not to mislead
Since causing pain is no fun
I’ve got to better learn to read
All the signs that point in a direction

Maybe I’m not ready to give my heart
But I want to give and receive love
So where do I start?
I look up to God and wonder deep inside
Where there are some answers
I simply cannot hide
From the questions which plague my mind
Perhaps I just have to give it time

Love is such a powerful thing
It can overcome obstacles
It’s the most incredible feeling
It can bring you down
Or lift you up to the ceiling
It can make you crazy
And leave you reeling
It can cause chaos and confusion
It can tear you apart
Or make you feel whole
But no matter what happens
Always remember that love
Is for everyone and anyone
That it is beyond and above
So many other feelings
That it can soar like a dove
It can change your life
And be a gentle shove
That tells you to trust, respect
And have some faith

With love you’re rich and successful
And you learn from your mistakes
It won’t leave you feeling dull
And the icing on those cakes
Is the happiness, peace, and joy
It provides for all our sakes.
