DEAR JOE
By Rainbow Joe

Your cold winter must have been pure murder. Now that it’s spring, you’ll be checking out the babes on Acland Street.  Anyway, it’s great that you’ve got yourself together again. Still, I was sad to see you hurting so badly when your ex-wife got married to that Bogan.  It stinks that it was only a couple of years since she took off with all your stuff. Leaving you by yourself in the middle winter must have been terrible. If you hadn’t suicided, you would’ve frozen to death. Ironic isn’t it. Nothing like a wicked bride eh?

I should have taken that bitch out. Oh, I’m just kidding, you know that.Darling, you should have known that it’s uncool to have other women when you’re married. Even so, anyone in their right minds could see you were always pouring out that big heart of yours into Ruth’s full glass. Then seeing that your feelings were being wasted, you went ahead and poured your feelings into empty glasses. Yeah, I guess you needed more than just sex from your wife. And then when the fucking stopped, you were left with sweet fuck all.

Working all over the country wasn’t exactly the smart thing to do either. It doesn’t take the brains of Einstein to know you were only running away from yourself.
You know something? Well it just happens that Life screwed up when she allowed you and Ruth to get married. You see, Life just wanted you to have a couple of rug rats, that all.

Yet you can’t really blame Life now, can you, given that you went and purposed marriage to Ruth when Life wasn’t looking.  Sneaky bugger weren’t you. Bloody hell Joe, you had only known Ruth a year before getting married. She did look beautiful though, and she still does. Not that it helps you much. All the same, you’ve got to admit that she gave you great kids. What's more, you were ecstatic when you first heard that you were going to be a Granddaddy. Now you’re so proud aren’t you Papa, that you have three of them,.

Lucky for you I didn’t take you away from Life before you met Ruth. I had a chance to do it in Vietnam, as you well know. Oh, I know I’m being a bitch; what was I supposed to think, seeing as you flirted with me before Ruth, and then you kept it up afterwards.

I really didn’t know why I let Life take you back when you suicided. But I’m guessing it was because you weren’t ready to commit to me. And now you’ve become obsessed with Life. Well it sticks out like dogs balls, doesn’t it?  Now that your’ve sick of me, go ahead, enjoy Life, I’ll get you in the end, won’t I?

Well that’s it for me Joe, and don’t you start flirting with me again. And you’ll be pleased that it’ll be around twenty years before we meet again. With the world the way it is and all the wars going on now, my place is overflowing.

You take care now,

Death
