Alison was al packed to leave for college. She really looked forward to going to college. She saw Ginger sitting on the vanity chair. Ginger. Her sweet brown Teddy Bear with a pink bow around her neck. Alison picked up Ginger. She had found Ginger on the beach when she was eight years old. She really wanted this Teddy Bear. Alison asked everyone on the beach if they had lost a Teddy Bear. No one had. So Ginger became Alison's Teddy Bear. She named her Ginger because she had washed up on the beach like Ginger and the castaways of "Gilligan's Island."
Truth be told, Ginger was Antonia, a mermaid. A princess whose father was King Poisedon. King Of The Ocean. A jealous Squid Queen Neturnia had changed Antonia into a Teddy Bear because Antonia was in love with in love with Danton, a merman who loved her back. Neturnia was in love with him, too. Danton had told Neturnia that he didn't love her and was in love with Antonia. He was honest with her. Neturnia was so jealous of the beautiful red head and changed Antonia into a Teddy Bear. Antonia never saw Danton again and didn't know what had happened to him. Her father was heartbroken and could do nothing to reverse the spell.
One day, Alison took Ginger to the beach to sit on the beach blanket and Alison was surfing on the ocean on her surf board. A shark was after Alison! Ginger didn't know where she found the strength but she walked to the ocean and turned into a mermaid. She kicked and punched the shark and he left. Alison was in shock and knew that she had seen Ginger, her Teddy Bear change into a mermaid. She was taken to the First Aid Station and she was alright but in shock. Did she imagine that Ginger had changed into a mermaid? Who would believe it? Alison hugged Ginger and knew that her Teddy Bear was a friend and was magical and supernatural.
Alison and her parents arrived at the college and Alison met her new roommate Jessica.
"Cute Teddy Bear. Does he eat a lot of food?" Jessica laughed and so did and so did Alison.
"She's a female and she likes to change into a mermaid." Ginger held her breath. Jessica laughed.
"I love mermaids and Teddy Bears." Jessica had a sense of humor.
Ginger sat on Alison's bed. One night, Jessica had bought a male friend into her room and Alison wasn't there. Jessica's friend Weston was getting rough with her and wouldn't leave when Jessica asked him to. Ginger kicked the guy and even though it was dark, Weston knew that he had been kicked by a Teddy Bear. Jessica knew it, too. The young man left and when Jessica told Alison, Alison told her about the shark and Ginger turning into a mermaid and saving her. They agreed to tell no one and when Weston told people, they laughed at him. So, Ginger's secret was safe.
One night when Alison and Jessica weren't home, two guys broke into their room. Ginger asked what they were doing. They were shocked.
"If you don't leave, I will call the police." Ginger growled and the two men left. No one ever bothered their room again.
After college, Alison got married and took Ginger to her new house. Ginger sat on the couch and could look out the window. The window was by an ocean. One day, Alison bought home a Teddy Bear. It was a male! Ginger looked at the Teddy Bear. It was Danton! They were so excited! They hugged after Alison left the room. Neturnia had turned Danton into a Teddy Bear , too. He lived in an Antique Store. He, too was found on the beach. Antonia and Danton read stories to each other and looked out at the ocean. Alison dressed them up in Wedding clothes and gave them a Wedding ceremony and her husband thought she was crazy but that was what he loved about Alison. Alison's husband Shaun, his grandma owned the Antique Store and when she found out Alison owned a Teddy Bear, she gave Alison the Teddy Bear from her Antique Store. Alison had seen them hugging and talking about being a mermaid and a merman. She would talk to them and they told her their story. It was their secret. Alison had children but the Teddy Bears weren't allowed to be played with. They were passed down to generations of her family. They will always be a heirloom with a enchanting secret. Do Teddy Bears live forever? These two do!
