Wake up in the morning mom says, " no school,"
I say, " thanks, that's really cool."
Dress up warm and go outside,
If mom calls we'll just go hide.
Throwing snowballs with my friends,
I hope this wintry fun never ends.
Making snowmen is half the fun,
If it melts, just make another one.
Snow angels are a winter tradition,
Pelting enemies with snowballs and into submission.
Mom brings out the hot chocolate; it's time for a break,
Dads cooking up a nice juicy steak.
After dinner is finished, the sled races begin,
The first to the bottom screams out, "I win!"
Trudge back up the hill and start again,
These rowdy souls parents cannot maintain.
All of the kids sledding way into the night,
I hit a bump and took a quick flight.
When the day is all done it's time to go back inside,
This time there is no reason to hide.
Boys and girls ready to retire to bed,
Going to rest their tired little heads.
Wake up tomorrow and the snow is all gone,
"it's time for school," I say with a yawn.
