Loss of a very close (more than just a) friend
So many times I thought I could describe,
The way it felt to have you in my life
So many thoughts I put upon the page
To tell you of my love, my heart’s desire.

But all of it just seemed so weak and lame.
For no mere words could nearly make it clear
That you were there in all my fondest dreams.
And my whole world existed just for you.

You were with me through all my good and bad
Through my successes, failings, and rewards
You gave me hope and help and yes, sometimes
You kicked me back on track to carry on.

It was a very special thing we had.
It’s gone; that can’t be helped; it can’t be changed
But one thing that I know down in my soul
Is how I miss you each and every day.

Wherever you may be, you’re still with me
Asleep, or in a crowd, or all alone
I see your face; I hear your angel voice
And relive all our pleasures in my mind.
