A poem on being accepted
It's a simple word, so simple, something we all choose to accept or decline
Well, something very important to me,
Is being accepted,
Being accepted for my way of life, the way that I feel, the way that I was born
It has always been in my heart to love someone,
Passionately, with care, protection, to love someone the way that they deserve to be loved,
So what if I love a guy this way?
So what if I am a guy?
So what?
I asked for nothing from this world and the people in it other than to be accepted.
My parents, they don't believe in it, but they accept me
My friends, they aren't gay, but they accept me,
My brother and sister, they don't understand it, but they accept me,
It is simple to accept someone,
I don't expect you to believe in it, or even practice it,
Just look at me as a whole person before you decide to say no and reject me,
I am tired of everyone who rejects me based off that one fact,
It makes me mad, then sad, then.........
You can fill in the blank with ever horror story you ever heard a teenager doing, because I have done it all.
All because people don't want to accept someone.
