Human kind is slowly destroying our creatures and places of sanctuary and nature. |
A lonely wolf lets out a cry Mountain peaks touch the sky Suns rays reaching down to earth The wolf howls out in pain of birth Trees are dancing in the breeze Wolf packs nervous, ill at ease Waves are pounding on the sand Boats are pulled onto virgin land Fingers of lightening fill the air Roaring thunder brings despair The wolf lets out a mournful cry These creatures want her kind to die Her eyes are watchful full of dread Surrounded by the fallen dead Whimpering of her new born cub Echoes from the thorny shrub Head held high she calls again Knowing that she calls in vain Bullets pierce her beating heart As body and spirit split apart Gentle winds, ruffle dying fur As the mighty Gods concur Her strong spirit and her love Belong forever, up above Hiding in the rocks close by A small child begins to cry Knowing that she has to help A helpless, dying baby whelp Lifting him in loving hands From the grains of bloodied sands Holding him with love and care She gently bows her head in prayer The mother sees, from high above Human’s can give pain or love Her little cub grows big and spry Soon released on mountains high Running free and all alone The wolf is safe in his new home He has mating on his mind A female is what he has to find The pack ignore his mournful call As he stands so proud and tall All alone near mountains high His mother watching from the sky. When you hear the call at night Do you cringe and shiver in fright Or do you know that spirits high Keep you under watchful eye? _________________ |
