we are officially entered into the wwe reality era and to tell you the truth im enjoying even more than the good old attitude era days.
this era is more in your face and pardon the pun it is more real.
it all began with cm punk stating that his contract was running out and he wasnt going to sign a new one which was true but things like that had never been spoken on tv before.
he claimed his last match was gonna be with john cena at the money int he bank ppv in his home town of chicago where he would walk out of the company with the wwe championship and never return.
along the way cm punk let rip at the wwe naming former guys like brock lesnar in his promo which has always been a big no no in the wwe until now.
at the ppv the atsmophere was electric and in a classic match on the easily theb best ppv of the year so far including wrestlemania cm punk won the wwe championship and left the company or so we thought.
the next night on raw mr mcmahon made a tournement to decide a new wwe champion it came down to the miz and rey mysterio but before they could have thier match vince made it for the following week to allow him time to fire john cena for losing last night.
sadly for vince that didint happen as his real life son in law triple h took to the ring ans stated just that before telling vince he had been relieved of his duties even calling him "paps". there was even tears shed by vince as triple h confirmed he is now taking over which in a few years will become reality.
the following week rey defeated miz to become wwe champion but his joy was shortlived as triple h made him defend against john cena later that night and it was a match cena won however cm punk made his shocking return to cool new music and stated he had signed a new long term contract which again was true.
triple h made an undisputed championship match for summerslam between the two with him as guest referee a decision he would later regret.
it was another great match between the two just not as good as their money in the bank ppv in the end punk hit cena with a second gts and covered him for the three count but what triple h didnt see was cenas foot on the bottom rope.
cm punk and the wwe universe were shocked when kevin nash returned and laid out punk allowing alberto del rio to cash in his money in the bank contract and defeat punk to become the new undisputed wwe champion.
the next night on raw triple h claimed to have no idea that his best friend nash was gonna do that but nash said he had a text from triple h telling him to take out the winner which punk didint buy.
expect a return of shawn michaels very soon as the reformation of the clique begins.
the undertaker may also return shortly as the american badass to take back the company.
exiting times for wwe fans.
we always wanted the return of the attitude era but instead we got something even better.
