My response to the "Left Behind" series
         “Say, Hey, LaHaye”

O, they’re twittering that Jesus is coming --
I’m considering praise or just bumming.
Lord of Hosts who’ll come down to smite me
         ‘Cause I didn’t reply when he’d E-vite me.
It doesn’t matter what I do or just did,
If I built an orphanage or stepped on a kid,
‘Cause if I didn’t worship Him, he would be jealous.
One can’t accept the Lamb – one must be zealous.

Uncertainty won’t get in the door.
To receive, believe, you don’t need more.
         Don’t matter whether you’re a drunk or a whore,
Or if you just pilfered from a bank or a store.
God is Love, you see, that’s all you say.
God is great, you say, that saves the day.
Yes, God will come here in twinkles of eye
And take the faithful with Him. Skeptics will die.

It’s a view of God that’s not all that bold.
It’s a view of God from Testaments Old.
It’s a view of God repeatedly told.
A view of God on which I can’t find me sold.
Yes, God is great, and he casts out the vermin.
All well and good when it’s not predetermined.
God’s planned everything, so where’s my decision?
Am I walking planks while dreaming of living?
