Chapter 2 of this series.
Although he was standing in the small doorway, practically filling it with his body and blocking out the light –not to mention the fact I was looking right at him- I decided to pretend I hadn’t seen him, instead acting like I was dusting the old sofa cushion with my hand, making myself look like a complete tard in the process.

He laughed.

“Michael. I know you can see me.”

I stood up and dusted my jeans, pursing my lips slightly to show that I wasn’t going to talk to him, and looked at the fridge instead.

He seemed to take my standing up as an invitation, and came into the trailer. I could practically hear him smiling.

Stupid bastard.

“Michael. Please don’t be like this.”

He sighed slightly. Ha, not so cheerful any more, are you?

I continued to look away from him, studying some of Sonia’s recent notes on the fridge, the biggest one reading ‘Don’t eat the green stuff in the plastic container!’ What the hell does that even mean?

“Michael. Look at me...please.”

“Go away.”

“You know you don’t mean that.”

“You know I do.”

Silence.

“I...I’ve mi-”

“Don’t say it.”

Bastard.

“Please look at me.”

I sighed heavily to show my displeasure at having to be in this situation, turning my head to face him, and he smiled widely, still holding onto the doorframe with a white-gloved hand. God, he looks exactly like I remember him. His blonde hair was exactly the same, right down to the way certain strands of his fringe fell over his deep, brown eyes –much like Sonia’s-. His face was a little more masculine than I remember, but hey, I hadn’t seen him for three years. He had aged well, that’s for sure. I looked down at his clothing and anger flared in my brain once again.

A white, military-style suit, with the same emblem as the one on the truck sewn onto the breast pocket.

It made me sick to look at him wearing it, so I turned away again, trying to make my face show my disgust.

“Michael...Mike, I-”

“Don’t call me that!”

I practically heard his eyes widen. I had never shouted at him in my life. Good, I hope he cries himself to sleep tonight because of it.

“...Michael.”

“Get. Out. Now.”

I was grinding my teeth so hard it hurt. He moved closer to me, and I instinctively knew what he was trying to do, so I moved away.

“Don’t even think about touching me.”

He stopped in his tracks.

“Michael. I...I’m so sorry.”

“Well it’s a bit late fo-”

“Not about that.”

“Wh..Wha-”

Suddenly, a hand was clamped around my wrists from behind, and my arms were pinned against my back. I struggled, trying to look behind me, but they were holding me too tight. Oh my God. He did this, him, he tricked me into believing that he just came to visit me, and now...

I looked up at him, my eyes wide, but this time he was the one looking away.

“C...Calvin...” I breathed, my voice failing me in my shock. His head jerked up to look at me sadly, and I saw him taking a deep breath, before he turned around, and left the trailer.
