I've always hated the word "Soon"
"Still So Soon"

Disillusioned and devasted, dissuaded and confused
My insides feel emptier than a hollow promise
Primed and armed, launched, ignited, then defused
Emotions running rampant and words thrown, hit and miss

Say anything please, end this cold, (and) numbing silence
Apprehensive, pretensive, pensive, all too understood
Enlightenment hurts my eyes, so close the blinds and valence
Come back to this bed (side) of darkness and nothing good

Whisper nothing, I won't hear the words lost in the night
I'll just stare dead ahead at my corpse, laid alone
To a coffin of lofty dreams and sobering fright
"Soon," is a lifetime fun from birth to maggot-covered bone

The pattern glares against a matte photo of my loyalty
Hearts torn and bloody, black (and), otherwise chained
I should have known better than to desire you of royalty
Still I'm yours with all anger announced and lust unrestrained

Enamored and glamoured, belittled and praised like a god
Duality courses more than blood in my veins, red and blue
Ensured and ensnared, cuddled, pleasured, packed under sod
Confusion and clarity sharing synapses to know, I love you
