A poem about getting caught in the past.
Holding each other in tender embrace
eyes locked in a lovers gaze
swishing across the floor in a waltz
Dancing with ghosts of days gone by

Weeks move by in tiny bundles
seasons run to one another
I have forgotten to notice
Dancing with ghosts of days gone by

I feel the stubble on my face
my hair is long and tangled
just a shadow of who I used to be
Dancing with ghosts of days gone by

Getting lost inside myself
people speak, I nod my head
people point, I move my eyes
Dancing with ghosts of days gone by

The sun sets upon this life
the tragedy is at an end
I have spent all my time
Dancing with ghosts of days gone by
