A Soldier in God's Army

I am a soldier in God’s army,
I will not give up; I will not give in,
I have been through the rough, and my time is not up,
Devil you have no hold on me,
I have been trained to fight the good fight,
God is my captain, my leader, my commander, and He is with me.
For if God is with me who can be against me, surely not you,
You won’t control me, bring me down, or make me beg,
I am strong and will not yield my life to you,
I am a solider in Gods army and He loves me,
I will fight for my Lord, and with my Lord,
I have taken the dark narrow path,
I have marched through your darkest nights,
Keeping one foot in front of the other and both eyes on God, and I am still here,
I have lived under unrelenting pressure and yet I persevere,
I have endured the pains of labor bringing new life into this world, and yet here I stand.
No this life is not going the way I want, but it is my life, and you devil will have no hold on it,
It is my life and it is in the creator's hands alone.
