2158 chronicles : The danger of curiosity

This is the year 2158. 120 has passed since the discovery changed the world. In the year 2038, a scientist made a miraculous breakthrough. By mixing adding some reptile's DNA to a cancerous cell, the scientist managed to stabilize the gene the cells life cycle by modifying the gene responsible of cell replication. The modified cells had a normal replicating cycle except for one thing : the gene responsible for replication didn't shorten, stopping the aging process. A year later, the same scientist manage to replace the replicating gene of a pig with the modified one with use of a retro-virus
.
It didn't take long to adapt the retro-virus for the human genome. The retro-virus was mass produced and everyone on earth was inoculated in less than 5 years. Beside for stopping the aging process of peoples, the anti-aging serum (that is how the retro-virus was called) the serum had also a side effect. In some case, the X chromosome slightly mutated. The mutation was classified has irrelevant (that is with it was mass produced), as no side effect has been observed. To be affected by this mutation, one must have both X chromosomes mutated (the Y chromosome seem to stop the mutation and no Y mutated chromosomes were found in the sample taken.), which was less than 10% of the populations, all women. Those that are affected reported no side effect except maybe an increase of their body flexibility and metabolism which was considered has beneficial at the time.

This wonderful discovery didn't make the world's problems disappear. In fact, it only contributed to it. While the death rate drop radically, the world populations also increase radically. The world demand for energy and food quickly overcame what the world could produce. This create global wide food shortage and make the cost of living skyrocket. By the early 2100, it was almost impossible for a family to buy a house, forcing multiples generations to live in the same house. Also, almost all country institute some laws to control birth rate from tax for each children to interdiction to have children at all. Still with all those laws and regulation, the cost of living continue to rise.

Around 2130, a strange new disease started to spread around the world. No one knew exactly where it started, but it spreads really rapidly over all corners of the Earth. The shrinko syndrome (better known as the shrink disease) causes the infected to loses mass and literally shrink down, only stopping when the infected body is around one inch tall as it loses the ability to process oxygen. No one know how the disease is transmitted or why some people are affected and why other aren't. The disease affects peoples of all ages, but mostly men to a ratio of 1000 to one. As the disease progressed, some peoples thought that it was genetically engineering by one of the government. This idea quickly fade out as all country of the world was affected. Five years later, a cure was found for the disease without knowing the cause of it. The cure only stop the shrinking and doesn't restore the mass, leaving the person shrunk and doesn't make it immune to it as some unlucky people had caught it multiple times. Since the lost of mass is greater in the beginning and slows with time, even if a person take the medicament at the early stage of the disease, the person still shrink to a height of 2 to 3 feet in average (The fact that the cure is really expensive and not easy doesn't help either as it increase the time one must wait to get it). Fortunately, a lot of the population seem to be immune as it affect only one man in 15 get the disease.

As the time pass, the disease became part of the society. Shrunken peoples were part of life. Unfortunately, those that are shrunken are usually unable take part in the society (as being too small to do anything helpful) and they are seen as a burden by some people (as the someone, usually a family member, must provide to them as the government as no money for social programs) or even as a lower kind of human being. They is a lot of unexplained disappearance of among the shrunken peoples. The local polices doesn't almost nothing in theses case as they don't have enough money to investigate them all and prefer to invest time and money on case that are better accepted by the population. Also, the fact that more men than women are affected by the shrinking disease have greatly change the society. Women occupy now places of power and they are in much great number on the planet.

Amelia opens the door of her house and walks inside, tired from her night-time job. She removes her shoes and let herself drops on the couch. Since she is 16 years-old, Amelia worked at various place around her house to help her family to pay for her school. Being now in college doesn't make it easier as she has now to struggle with work and her school schedule. As she starts to relax, she looks at her little brother Steven playing with his old gaming machine. Very little in fact as Steven is one of the unlucky boy that contracted the shrinking disease at early age.
It been five years now since Steven contracted the disease. Fortunately, his parents managed to a cure before he shrinks too much. When he did stop shrinking, he was 2 feet tall. Now, he as grow a little to reach 3 feet. With his new height, her mother pulls him out of school only after a few years of elementary school. Since then, Steven pass the most of his time playing with his 100 years old console that his great grandmother gave to him.

Being very tired because of her job, Amelia closes her eyes and starts to yawn noisily. When she opens her eyes, her heart jumps in her chest as she sees her little brother standing near her staring into her open mouth.
"Hey! back off!" Amelia says.

Steven backs up from the couch and looks toward her sister and says :

"Sorry, I didn't want to frighten you. I was just looking at your mouth."

"Why the hell are-you looking in my mouth?" she replies.

"It is so big." He says. "I didn't knew that you could open your mouth like that."

"Gee thank bro, I will remember that."

"No, don't be angry. I wasn't mocking you. I found it pretty cool. How wide can you open your mouth?"

"Euh!, I don't know. I guess like that yawn."

"Can you open your mouth again? I want to look inside again." Says Steven.

Not interested to become her brother new attraction, Amelia answers :

"I don't think this is a good idea."

"Please, just a quick look." He says.

Not wanting to make her brother sad, Amelia reluctantly accepts his request.

"Alright, just a quick look."

As Amelia opens her mouth, her brother climbs the couch and starts peeking inside her sister mouth.

"Wow!, your mouth is pretty cool sis. Can I take a closer look? I think I can put my whole head inside." Steven asks.

"Ok, but don't stay too long in there unless you want to become my dinner." joked Amelia.

Steven approaches her big sister face and gently inserts his head inside her mouth. The inside of her mouth is very tight and his head barely fit inside.

Amelia doesn't believe what is happening. She is letting her small brother put his whole head into her mouth. As his head enters her mouth, his face scrapes the bottom of her tongue, sending a wonderful flavour to her brain. She is surprised by how good her brother taste. Her brother lays down on her tongue for a few seconds and says :

"I wonder how much you can open your mouth. Here, let me help you."

Steven squeezes his hands into her sister's mouth and gently starts pushing on the bottom and top maw. To Amelia' surprise, her jaws continues to expend until a slight pop sound come from her bottom jaw. Her bottom jaw immediately unhinges, and slides down her brother chest and stops around his belly button, tearing her brother's cotton shirt in the process with her teeth.

"Wow, it is even bigger now. This is amazing, I can see the entrance of your throat."

Amelia doesn't believe how much her mouth is stretched. It is almost 3 times bigger than normal. Also, the sweet taste of her brother's skin on her tongue is really starting to make her hungry. She didn't eat anything in 8 hours and her belly lets out a loud gurgle in protest.

"Is that your tummy sis? You must be really hungry."

Steven is having a great time in her sister's mouth. He could see all the details of her white teeth, her uvula and the dark entrance of her throat. Fearing to hurt her sister, he stays still and only looks around.

Amelia hunger continues to rise as her little brother slightly move on her tongue, releasing some wonderful flavour. A pool of saliva starts to form under her brother.

Steven lays still on his sister's tongue for 2 minutes then turns a little to get a better view of the top of her sister's mouth.
While moving, Amelia feel his body turns on her tongue, releasing an intense wave of flavour that cloud her mind. Her instinct instantly kick in and she swallows.

Her brother's head is immediately pushed inside her tight throat and more of his chest is pulled inside her mouth, liberating even more flavour for her to enjoy. It took her a few seconds to realize what is happening and what she has done. She couldn't believe that is head is in the beginning of her throat and that she still able to breathe. She could feel her oesophagus squeezing his face and all smalls movement like when he exhales air. Part of her want to continue swallowing her brother but another part tell her to caught him up.

It took a while to Steven to realize what happened. He never thought that is head could fit inside her throat. Even with is small side, is head is almost big as her throat. Now it is crushing his face really hard, making breathing almost impossible. Overwhelmed by the situation, Steven doesn't know what to do and lays still for the moment, not wanting to hurt himself or his sister.

Feeling her brother stays still in her throat, a strange thought comes to Amelia. Maybe Steven wants to be eaten. He is so fascinated by her mouth that maybe he wants to go further down. Her thought grow as time pass as she waits a few seconds for a sign of protestation from her brother. Feeling no movements, she finally decides what to do and swallows hard.

Amelia's throat expends even more and Steven' shoulders are squeezed inside. He feels her powerful wet oesophagus' muscles squeeze his head very hard and push it further down, creating a huge bulge in her sister's throat. His cotton shirt falls off on Amelia's laps as more of his body slides inside. Steven's descent stops when his head reach the middle of her throat, leaving only his legs outside.

When Steven's decent stops, Amelia put her right hand on the bulge in her throat. She is amazed of how big it become. She could feel all her brother facial feature, his mouth, nose and eye sockets even through her skin. The stretching of her throat doesn't hurt her. Her belly lets out another hungry growl and decides that it is time to finish this. She has to go to school soon.

Amelia never been so full of all her life. Not only her brother has stopped her hunger, she was in a states of bliss for having such a fulfilling and tasty meal. Amelia starts thinking. He brother feel so good inside her that she doesn't want to let him out. but in the same time, if he want to come out, she just can't keep him inside. Suddenly, she remembers her school. She looks at her watches and says :

"Sorry, I can't right now. I must go college. I guess you will have to wait a little until I return home."

Not waiting for a reply, Amelia gets up from the couch and walks toward the door. Her movements is much harder now as her brother give her some extra weight. She adapts quickly to her new weight and starts walking toward the transport pod. Which each steps she takes, Steven's body is shaken from left to right. It only stop when Amelia sits down in the pod.

She immediately scan her id card and tell the computer her destination, her college. As the pod gets off, Amelia is relieves that she didn't throw up her little brother. Not only she would have been late to her class, she would have been really hungry too. She doesn't have this problem now as her brother is doing a great job by warding off her hunger.

Steven remains still during the whole trip. When the transport pod arrives at destination, Amelia slowly gets up and walks toward the college. As she approaches the main door, she notices two of her close friends are waiting for her.

"Amelia where you're been! The course will start soon!" shouts Naomi.

"My god!, what has happened to your tummy. It is so big!" says Sara.

Amelia doesn't answers and continues to walk toward her friend. When she arrives near them, her two friends looks at her enlarged belly. It is Naomi that is first to break the silence.

"What did you do to get a belly that big? Eat a horse?"

"No, just my little brother." answers Amelia with a smile, happy of her situation.

"What? You didn't really eaten your brother." says Sara.

Amelia rubs her belly and says : "Yes I did. He is in my tummy now."

Amelia's friends stand before her speechless, still digesting what Amelia just said.

"Why, did he do something to you?" asks Sara.

"Not really. He wanted to look inside my mouth so I open it and let him take a look. He then became a little too ambitious. I couldn't resist his taste and I swallowed him" says Amelia.

"Swallowed? you swallowed him whole that is impossible." says Naomi.

"Yeah, even if he is a shrinky, he is still much too big for you to swallow." says Sara.

"That is incredible!" says Naomi.

"Yeah. It is even more incredible when he squirms around." Amelia says.

" He is still conscious in there?" says Sara.

"Yes, look" Amelia squeezes her belly, causing her brother to squirm in protest. Small bulges appears in Amelia's tummy as he moves inside.

"Wow, if I didn't know better, I would thought that you were pregnant and ready to give birth." says Sara.

"Yeah, but if he stays in there, it is the back door that he will use and Amelia will give birth to a very smelly baby." replies Naomi.

"Gross." says Sara.

"Girls, don't scare my little brother." says Amelia.

Fortunately for Steven, the girls was too far for him to understand what they say.

"He could hear us?" says Naomi.

"Of course he can. We had a short conversation before I take the transportation pod. If you want to talk to him, just put your head near my belly." says Amelia.

Naomi puts her ear on Amelia's belly and says :

"So Steven, how do it feel to be eaten by your big sister?"

For the first time in a while, Steven hears someone talks to him. He recognizes the voice as one of his sister's friend. As he responds, his voice could only be hear by Amelia and Naomi.

"It is no fun. It is wet and smell bad. I'm also squished from all side."

"Oh, the little thing doesn't like to be in there, it is too tight and smelly for his taste." says Naomi for Sara to understand Steven's response.

"Well Steven, that is to be expected when you become your sister's meal." says Naomi.

Before Steven could answers, Sara speaks :

"I hate to say this, but our course will start soon. We have to go now if we want not to be late."

"Right, let go" says Amelia.

The three girls enter the college and walk toward their class. Surprisingly, no one seem to see or care Amelia's huge belly. Few minutes later, they enter the classroom and sit down at their desks.

The course last for the better part of the day. Amelia finds it long and boring, but there nothing she could do about it. She is glad to have her brother with her as would have been very hungry otherwise. During all the course, she looks and rubs at her full tummy a few times, when her brother move inside or when she hears a low gurgle coming from it. She is relieve when the class end as she is becoming very tired. Her morning shift and the heavy weight in her stomach really put a strain on her.

The three girls get up and left the class. When they reach outside, Naomi says :

"I don't know. He feels really nice in there, but I don't think I can keep in there forever. I will be forced to let him out one someday." answers Amelia.

"Yeah, if you let in there too long, it will be with your butt that you will be forced to let him out." joked Naomi.

"That is not funny." says Sara.

"Alright girls, I have to go. See you tomorrow Naomi. Bye Sara." says Amelia.

Amelia's friends say "bye" as she walks toward the transportation pod. She enters it and sits down inside. The trip home is uneventful for both Amelia and Steven, except for a few squirming from Steven which try to relieve the itching of his skin.

When she arrives home, Amelia silently sneaks into her bedroom with being seen by her parent as she doesn't want to explain her enlarge belly to them. Once in her room, she closes the door and lays down on her bed. She then removes her pants, allowing her belly to expand.
"Oooh!, what a day. I' not too sad to be home. It is not easy carrying you around. If you want to get out, this is the time. I'm going to bed soon." says Amelia.

Steven hears his sister but doesn't know what to do. Feeling no movements from inside her belly, Amelia says :

"Well bro, this is it. If you want to get out, now is the time. If you stay much longer, I don't think I will be able to get you out." Amelia says.
Amelia continues to rub her belly, slowly waking her brother inside. Feeling move inside, she asks :

"So, do you want to get out or stay inside and become my breakfast. I would really love that as you feel really good inside." asks Amelia.

As she steps inside, her friend Naomi sees her and says :

"Hi."

"Hi." says Amelia.

Naomi approaches Amelia. When she is near enough, she speaks to Amelia quietly so that no one else in the restaurant hear them.

"So, you didn't release him."

"Yeap. He wanted to become my snack after all." Amelia says.

Naomi puts her right hand on her friend's tummy and rubs it a little. It is much smaller and softer than the last time and she could feel a bubbly feeling as Amelia's belly gurgles heavily to digest its meal. She could still feel Steven inside, but she isn't not sure that the few movements she feel come from him or Amelia's intestines pushing him further down.

"Wow, you belly is much smaller now." Naomi says.

"Really? I notice that it is smaller, but I didn't that much." says Amelia.

"Yeah. It was almost twice that big. Anyway, how was the night?" asks Naomi.

"Wonderful. Just before going to sleep, he squirmed a lot. I never feel something like it. It was wonderful. I will not forget that night." says Amelia.

"Oh. It was that good?" replies Naomi.

"Yes." responds Amelia.

"I see." says Naomi with a little disappointment in her voice.

"Yes I am. I wish I could eat my little brother." answers Naomi.

"Naomi, you don't have a brother." says Amelia.

"I know. I wish I have." says Naomi.

"Well, maybe you could ask Sara if you can borrow his brother for a day. He has contracted the shrinking disease him to a while ago." says Amelia.

"Do you think she will let me eat him?"

"I don't think so. She is really protective of her little brother. It cannot hurt to ask" says Amelia.

"Yeah, I will ask her. Maybe he wants to be eaten too."

"Don't count on it. My brother is a special one." says Amelia while rubbing her belly.

Naomi bends down to Amelia's belly and says :

"I don't know if you can still hear me Steven, but it is really nice of you to become her snack. I hope that you enjoy your trip inside your sister has it will be over soon."

When Naomi stands up again, the two girls notice their boss looking down at them. Not wanting to make her angry, they stop talking and takes there assigned positions behind the counter.

As the morning goes by, Amelia's tummy doesn't stop gurgling and slowly deflates, forming a smaller and harder bulge lower in Amelia's abdomen.

As she looks closer, she could see some white speck embedded in her poop which she thinks must be undigested pieces of bones or teeth. There is also a few hair visible in there, but nothing else. It looks like some normal poop, not the remains of a little boy.

"Well bro, it is time to say goodbye. Thank you for becoming my meal. I will never forget you."

Amelia throws the soiled toilet paper in the bowl and reaches for the flush handle. As she reaches it, she realizes that her pile of poop is way too big for the flush to work and pull up her pant instead. As she leaves the bathroom, she cannot stop herself to have pity for George, the janitor, who would have to clean the bathroom later.

As she returns to her post, she notices Naomi smiling at her. Amelia smiles back and resumes her work. The rest of the day is uneventful and Amelia returns home few hours later.

She arrives just in time for supper and sits down with her parent to eat. One of the first thing they ask is she knows where her brother is. She answers that she didn't see him since noon and doesn't where he went after that. They do not ask more questions and Amelia resumes eating her supper. For a strange reason, even if it is one of her favourite meal, she doesn't find it appetizing anymore. It was like her supper is missing some flavor or some kick in it.

A few days later, Amelia's parent fill out a missing form person. Two policewomen come in the next day asking questions and left no long after they arrive. Few days later, Steven's case is closed and marked as a missing person, like many case involving shrunken peoples.
