To My Biggest Fan.



You sat in a cafe to text me one day,

drank coffee while you sat there so far away.

‘I am your biggest fan’ the message read.

‘I love you too!’ went round in my head.



How can I express the love that I feel,

for a man so devoted, so proud and so real.

Who has been there to share, to care and to bond

Through the good times and sad all these years long.



You are my heart, my soul, my everything,

My life complete, my world revolving.

We share three sons of which I’m elated,

And a network of friends that feel as if they’re related.



The boys are nearly grown up, the nest almost empty,

But life for us continues, our cup overflowing a plenty.

As we explore the next phase of our journey.

I am glad it is you I have to share it with me.



Come home to me soon, I miss you my love,

I’ll keep the fire burning and dinner on the stove.

The dogs are sitting by the window awaiting your arrival,

And I am here with open arms dependent for my survival.
