I have soared among angels with crystal wings
Swum this space and breathed the purest air,
Swept and swooped puppet-like on silky strings.
I rode the wind above the mighty eagles lair,
And looked down on earth’s lush patchwork hues
All tied up with golden webbed water views.
I have dived with devils into transparent seas,
Dazzled by aqua jeweled sun sparkling lights,
Fronded palms swaying in the breath-like breeze.
And sat staring at stars through the balmy nights
Where neon crabs darted like shooting spears
Startled in sand, rested to allay their fears.
I have bathed in blossoms pink rain,
Haunted by tales breathing from the gnarled bark,
Watched lime-light leaves unfurl in pain,
Hearing in envy, the song of a lonely lark.
The grey grumbling clouds graced with opal mist
Settled pearls of dew on new born buds just kissed
Oh I could dream up poems with worlds of words
And drift through my mind with wings of birds
But I have to return to where I need to be
And envelope my soul from being free.
