It wasn't expected |
As I nervously get dressed and do my hair and makeup, I wonder to myself if i'll even enjoy my last high school dance, or if it was just a huge waste of money because I have no date. Being the sweet brother of mine, he came home from college to go chaperone the dance, when really i knew his exact plans. He wanted to come with me, i guess so i would feel less stupid and weird, and to be there just in case some jerk were to mess with his baby sister.I'm really worried about the dirty looks i'll be getting, showing up with no one. The guy that asked me, asked me and my bestfriend at different times. His name was Jon lo. He didn't know the definition of gentlemen all to well, and only wanted a good reputation from his fellow jocks. After refusing to go with him, after he forcefully asked, He asked my bestfriend who was sitting next to me, and she agreed with a smile that she would be ready 7 o'clock sharp. Disgusted as i was, i got up and scurried away from the lunch table. Lucky for me the bell rung as soon as i reached the hallways. As thoughts raced in my head of no longer having a bestfriend, i didn't have a date either. My brother just arrived, and were both ready to go. Here goes nothing I thought to myself. All my mother could do was get as many as pictures as she could as we hurried to the car, we both hated taking pictures because she took the worse ones ever. When we arrived at the dance, we went our separate ways. When I got into the auditorium where the dance was held, barely anyone was dancing to the song playing. I made my way to the concession stand only to find jon, and cindy my use to be friend sucking faces. I turned around to find my brother with an irritating look on his face.. By then, i knew it was time for us to go. He knew instantly something was wrong when we both got into the car, he didn't ask because it would've only made things worse. To keep my parents from questioning why we left so early, me and my brother decided to go grab a bite to spare some time before our curfew. After all, the night with my brother was more than eventful, and more fun than that stupid dance. |
