The voice within

The Voice within



The thing in my head,

Of which i can not speak,

For if i do those i love,

Will all believe im weak.



I feel the dark clouds coming

Shelter i can not find,

The sounds i hear are voices,

Im going out of my mind.......



One voice is getting louder,

The one i must ignore

The one that says that its ok,

For my blood to drip upon the floor.



At first it's just a whisper,

The kind i didn't hear,

But now it seems it's shouting

And screaming down my ear.



"The first cut is the best'" it says

"The pain stops there and then

So go on, grab the blade

And slice it through your skin"



At first i do not listen

Iit starts to hurt inside

I feel the pressure building

I feel it come alive.



The pain

The ache

The hurting

I want this all to end

The voice it starts to tell me

The blade's my only friend.



Last time it was just scratches

But now i want to cut,

I cant escape this feeling,

It lingers within my gut.



For once i wish that i was free

from the voice inside,

but all it seems i can do,

is to run and hide.



Right now i fight the voices back

deep down inside my mind,

I pray one day that i'll be strong

And silence i will find.
