A poem about the sexual abuse of a child from a very young age |
A child cannot understand some of the things her daddy does. She does whatever he asks her to because he is showing her love. Forever she is daddy’s girl but only if she obeys. And play the games his way or someone she loves will pay. She's naive to what keeps happening you can see it in her eyes. When alone in her bedroom she tries hard not to cry. Pain she feels can’t fight the tears that slowly stroll on down her face. She has no words to express things to tell you what just took place. For she is young and cannot speak words that we would understand. Silence is her only world but she gestures with her hands. She lacks the understanding as to what her parents did. Now part of her is damaged the part that's still a kid. A past to feel ashamed about and memories locked inside. Of sex she was forced to perform and how part of her has died. Years go by she feels the need to confront those who abused. She knows they will deny it for they cannot face the truth. They’ll never say “I’m sorry” or compensate in any way. They’ll never admit to abusing me for the courts would make them pay. The truth is her validation it will never speak any lies. She is free to live her life again as she heals her pain inside. |
