On Music

We all share those moments,

When life is too much to bear,

With crushing weight, prompting

A solution, not yet clear,

As time passes on the clock,

Our muscles strain, teeth grind.



This calls for but one action,

To help us feel relief from strain,

Get up and seek out music,

For words can’t help you now,

As the sounds invade your ears,

All worries are swept away.



Oh how we welcome thee,

As we slowly fade away,

Like seaweed carried by waves,

As we rise upwards swiftly,

To a planet all covered in blue,

Abstracted from the world.



Slowly as we keenly listen,

Old memories return to mind,

Long hidden in the background,

Of times of happy innocence,

And ducks, and flowers and stars,

Our frown turns upwards.



These feelings inexpressible,

So why care to even try,

Music speaks better than words,

It feels sweeter than love,

More loyal than any friend,

Its role is to grant us peace.
