short poems about life and experiences
What Little Soft Landings:

Stare like you'll stay
I'm awaiting your arrival
Make way for your adventure
Into a new life;
Unrealized until we're alive

Stare like you're still alive
I'm still believing your words
Making way for a new lie
To break us farther apart
Like ashes on the coastline

Take it away
"She'll kill me quick"
The nights prove disarray
Into battles unfinished.
Setting suns with fire

In the grand scheme of things
The trying must stop. Do.
Accomplish the goals you set;
Whether big or small
No reason to leave can ever get
Better than this

A sun shining on the darkest night,
A plane flying high over low
Buildings; yet they don't fall and crumble
What little soft landings they've had

But.. where.. is it?
The lone specter of ghostliness
Fades away into desolate abodes
For solemn homes, are we
Really there? The question we ask

Life: something we'll never know
Nor in any just poem
Of lawlessness stained black
On whitewashed tombs
Deny the scarlet desire

Write it down
Make it legible
Read it like it matters
And forget what doesn't
But most of all,

Stare like.. No
Stare like....
Stare like... You'll..
Stare like you'll stay

Tumultuous Weather:

Oh the snow and thunder
Oh the rain and winds
When will you cease?
It's as if time has no hold on you
The clouds, powerless
To tumultuous weather

Whether or not I like it
Its how I am with you
For I am not there to be a conqueror,
Of gale force winds

To the sea I see the light
House cast over dimly lit hallways
"Move faster", says the fisherman,
A noble spirit of the weather

For no more am I your ocean
To swim on endlessly,
Swaying the moon
By your orders
Helpless, to tumultuous weather

From the Sky to the Ground:

From the sky down to the ground
The lightning strikes at magnum sounds
I'm not trying to rhyme
But it's fitting for this time

All along the barriers hold
Withering mulch,
What casualties it has
Sacrificing itself for plants
To grow and grow until the roots set in

From the sky to the ground
I wish it were able to make such sounds

Take Two:

That which can be alive
And breathing
If I could see the winds
Screaming to be
All lost in a forest
Of these dreams
Withered down and reaching to be
Something of a man
That which can be
Alive

Take most of what could be
Screeching out to see
Trains approaching,
And shadows forming
Helping all of those who wish to be
Alive and breathing;
Nothing less than amazing

So once, take two for me
And you will see
What it means
To be alive

I am the Speaker, But:

What glorious natures held
By nymphlike creatures
Naked in their attire,
But none the matter
For who is a judge
In a one-man show?

Just as if all of your fears
Came suddenly at once,
Turning you stiff
A stone amongst the living
Why even bother moving?
Can't be freed, forced to see
Everything;
A judge in a one-man show

Glory to the angels, we sing
To all the martyrs
Who died for us
For they are the tried and true
The all-knowing and everlasting
Judge in a one-man show

I am the speaker, but
What is responsibility?

My 67th Has Gone Missing:

Take away everything you've ever felt
And be free
For once in your life,
Be alive, be awake, be breathing

[When I turned the page
The corner bent into a perfect dog-ear
As if the words knew I'd need them again
I'd need them again... for you]

Because I cannot survive on my own
The earth is not a cold dead place
For last calls for lost souls;
We all have our plans
Some better than others,
But who's complaining?

See, if I had some say,
Maybe life would be a little smoother
Now that my 67th has gone missing
How am I supposed to function?

The one thing that held it all together,
Now shattered;
A fortress in shambles
Of what it once was

A mirror of perfection gracing a face,
The face of an angel
With a form to fit it
And never forget those things you said

Think of how it all went
And tell me if it should have went differently

Last Remarks from the Highest Tower, Pt. 1:

The greatest lie
Ever told
Was one of
Compassion

Understanding this,
The heralds spoke
In words,
Phrases, dead maybe
And in paragraphs

All along
The way seemed
Smooth, yet
No path was safe
For the weary

From the high tower
He shouted,
"Can you hear this?"
The reply cast
A badly hung mast
Upon the first sail

From the higher tower
She shouted.
"Can you see this?"
The reply masked
A smug-toothed smile
Wait for a while

From the even higher tower
They shouted,
"Can you taste this?"
The reply smelt
Firstly you could tell
As if barf began and fell

What is it..
Evil you say?

From the highest tower
We shouted,
"Take your remarks and shove them up your ass"
