Just one more sad memory ... A Country Western Music Winner
One More Memory

It's just a bar where we would meet
pretending that we were discreet;
that no one noticed, though it was clear
how much we held each other dear.

Holding hands, we'd laugh and talk
as music played on the jukebox.
Making plans, I would watch you while
my world lit up from just your smile.

(Refrain)
Now it's just -
One more memory of
Two who fell in love
with dreams of a family
making a world for three;
dreams swept away by rains
until nothing more remains.

There's nothing left for me
... just one more sad memory.

As I walk down the street I see
the places where you used to be.
I wipe my eyes and turn away.
I don't want the pain of yesterday.

Words of the preacher, words unsaid
still haunt me now, inside my head.
We don't always know what He has planned.
There's no reason we can understand.

Now it's just -
One more memory of
Two who fell in love
with dreams of a family
making a world for three;
dreams swept away by rains
until nothing more remains.

There's nothing left for me
... just one more sad memory.

Your memory stalks me like a ghost.
I can see you, hear you, touch almost.
I should move on, start again, and yet ...
you're just a memory I can't forget.

One more memory of
Two who fell in love
with dreams of a family
making a world for three;
dreams swept away by rains
until nothing more remains.

There's nothing left for me
... just one more sad memory.
...just one more sad memory.
