Bad Dreams
I was in Bella Notte again, alone. Tables were turned over, plates smashed on the floor, but no one else was there.
"Nathan?" I called, my voice echoing strangely.
"Jadyn!" I heard his voice, and spun around to face him.
He walked into the room, dressed in all white. "Are they gone?" he asked.
"Who?" I inquired as I walked to him.
"The demons." Nathan answered, and I stopped, shocked.
I was about to answer when I saw a movement behind him, and cried his name. He turned, but one of the men that had followed us lunged out of the shadows and leaped onto him, tackling him to the ground. I screamed, but Nathan thrust his legs out, throwing the man off of him. Then he leaped to his feet and turned to face me. Pure white wings jutted out of his back, his white shirt falling away from his torso.
The man who had fallen lay in the floor, and lookedup at me. "Jadyn," he murmured. I looked at him and a scream froze in my throat. It was Nathan.
"Jadyn," the other Nathan said.
"Jadyn," the one on the floor repeated.
"Stop!" I cried, clapping my hands over my ears.

"Jadyn," My eyes snapped open, heart beating fast. "Wake up," the soft voice murmured in my ear, and I felt my body relax. Nathan's arms were around me, and we were folded in the waves of his thick comforter.
My mind flashed back to the previous night, and I closed my eyes again.
"I saw that," Nathan chuckled, kissing my neck. "It's time to wake up, Jade."
Despite myself, I smiled, and pulled his arms tighter around me. I'd never spent the night with Nathan before. Granted, this wasn't exactly how I had pictured it happening; with me having a nervous breakdown and crawling into bed with Nathan like a kid running to mommy's bed at the first sound of thunder.
And yet. . . .
"It's too early," I mumbled, burying my face in the pillow, and Nathan chuckled again.
"You have class," he whispered, lips traveling up my neck to my ear. "And Chad will find out."
I mumbled something unintelligent and Nathan rolled over with a laugh, looking down at me. "You'll have a harder time explaining it to Harper," he said, leaning down and pressing his lips to mine.
I didn't say anything, because I knew he was right. Harper would be on me worse than Jackson, and I would never escape. But she wouldn't think anything of it if I was a few minutes late . . .
Nathan pressed down closer, obviously forgetting he had justbeen trying to coax me to class. I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him tighter--
The door opened, and Nathan immediately rolled away from me, facing the door. I pulled the blankets up around me with a surprised gasp.
Declan raised a brow and leaned against the doorframe. He gave a low whistle. "Well, well, well," he said, folding his arms. "So this is why you weren't answering your phone."
"Get out, Declan," Nathan said, sliding out of bed and standing to his feet.
Declan glanced over his shoulder, then grinned back at me. "I suppose you would like me to distract Jackson while you sneak out?" he asked, "Because I assume you don't want him to know."
I gave him a sour look, which only made him laugh again.Nathan walked over and pushed him out of the room. "Good-bye, Declan." he said as he closed the door.
He looked back at me and spread his hands with a laugh. I didn't know what was more terrifying--slutty stalkers, nightmares, or the prospect of my little brother finding out about this.
I was leaning toward the latter.
