The complexity and beauty of the mind....
Emerged in darkness, suddenly so cold,
alone in a world of desolate desire,
wandering further into the silence,
every little step heavier than the last.
Water begins to fill my lungs and I find myself floating;
gaze up and swim toward the surface,
gasping for breath finally, at last.
Cold and soaked, a sudden breeze dries me,
leaving me with an ice cold touch.
Chorus Romance fills the trees;
I gaze in wonderment.
The axis of logic swirls around me,
lifting me in the air.
It continues to swirl, faster and faster,
until suddenly, it stops.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath.
Opening my eyes, I find the light,
burning so brightly.
I reach toward it,
fingertips brush it ever so softly before it disappears,
bursting into tiny sparks of glitter.
I turn and see myself sleeping so peacefully,
dreaming of a better day, a better tomorrow.
I whisper, "Bury me", then disappear into the darkness,
with only the scent of jasmine and lillies.
My domain.
