A Young boy doesn't know where he is or who he is, all he knows is that he has to get out. |
Chapter 1 I wake up and find white masks looming over me. I blink multiple times, where was I? Who are these people? And who am I? I feel pricks of pain in my arms and realized that the masked people are injecting me with things. I try to move my arms, but they’re strapped in place. I panic and pull harder, ripping the things preventing me from moving. I sit up and the people push me down, trying to get me to lie back down. I refuse and fight harder, breaking out of their grasps. I run to the door and down a hall. I hear footsteps coming after me and run faster. I turn a corner and stop, catching my breath. I peek around the corner and, not seeing anyone, slowly walk across the hall to a door. I grab the knob and start to turn it when I hear someone shout. “You,” it bellows, “stop right there. Just come with us and we won’t hurt you.” I turn to see four people standing side by side across the hall, all carrying guns. I jerk the door open and dash through, gunshots blast from behind me. As I run my mind wonders; why was I here, why did these people want me, why can’t I remember anything about myself? I feel someone grasp my wrist and attempt to pull me to a stop. I turn and kick as hard as I can. The person yells and let’s goes of my wrist. I sprinted for what seems like hours before I realized that no one was following me. I slow down, taking big gulps of air. I turn the corner and lean against two glass, sliding doors. Red lights cover my chest and I look up, more men with guns were standing across from me, aiming for kill. I back up and dart out of there, running for my life, glass shattering behind me. After a while I don’t hear any more footsteps but I won’t slow down this time. At full sprint I get knocked to the ground, bashing my head against the floor. I woozily get up and looked at I bumped into, it’s a girl. She is also on the floor and she’s staring at me. She looks as lost and confused as I am. She has dark brown hair and light crystal blue eyes. I smile at her, finding her very pretty. I push this feeling away and stand up, holding my hand out to her. With out questioning it the girl takes it and we both start running, looking for a way out. We walk through a door way to be greeted by more people, the same people that were injecting me. We back away to the door to find it locked; we turn and see more people on the other side. I gulp as one man stepped out from the crowd we turned our back to. “Listen you two,” the person commands, “you do not belong out of this building, it is a cruel and dangerous world out there.” “It’s better being in here,” I say somehow finding the courage, “what have you done to me? What am I doing here? What am I?” “I can only answer those questions if you promise to be good children and stay,” the man replies. “How can we trust you,” the girl pipes in, “how do we know you wont just strap us to those tables again?” The man smiles, “I guess you’ll just have to trust us.” The girl and I answer at the same time, “Never.” With that I pick up the girl and jump through a window. |
