A philosophical work about the human ego and religion.
The Cult of Self is the religion of the extreme ego. It is the one true religion of our

species. All other monotheistic religions are simply testaments to the Cult of Self.

We created God in our own image and likeness. This, quite blatantly is the height of

arrogance. It is the boldest wholesale lie in human history. Because we lack the will

to admit that we believe that the true god is ourselves. We use an all omnipotent

being to mask our own ego. This is the Cult of Self.

We use a divine figure with some altruistic plan to justify our own ulterior motives.

God is our ultimate scapegoat. It is the Cult of Self that creates a hierarchy placing

our species at the top. It arrogantly tells us that we as species unlike others will live

on in some kind of after life. It is the Cult of Self that allows us to disconnect

ourselves from our environment and create our own, unlike other species that work

harmoniously with their niche. When we say that humans have lost their connection

with nature, it is to say that we have lost our connection to ourselves. This is the

consequence of the Cult of Self.

We inflate ourselves with the idea that we are unique as a species. That we are

intelligent and sophisticated, yet we fall to the very forces that we claim to have

mastery over. We like all species are tiny carbon based life forms that live on a tiny

planet among infinite planets in an ever expanding universe. To place ourselves on

some kind of pedestal is both delusional and arrogant.
