poem about a spider and sin |
A Web of Sin A web so strong Yet made of silk Invisible skeins Woven to trick Unseen to the eye Until it’s too late Stuck in the net Of undesireable fate Prepared so delicately And set as a trap Tricked so easily To fall to mishap Prey to the sin Yet again I have fallen Caught in the stickiness Of the evil one’s callin’. Movement alerts The angel of dark Forces of evil Descend at his hark. Immediately surrounded Feeling trapped in this mess I cry out for help I’m failing this test! The pressure is fierce I am being bound Oh no, this is it I’ll never be found. Suddenly, the evil surrenders Its foe The web is loosened I am let go. Tossed outside The grasp of defeat My Savior arrived My hope is complete! Jesus, the Redeemer Never comes late But watch for the webs They always have bait. Praise Him Almighty Giver of Life Allowing my rescue Forgiving my plight. Poem inspired by a garden spider at Limehouse boat landing. 9-10-09 I watched a garden spider bind stick thrown into her web. When she realized she could not consume it she let it go & tossed it from her web. AMAZING!!! Isn’t this what our Savior does for us? Sometimes we feel trapped & lost in Satan’s web of sin. Praise God, he has to release us when he realizes we belong to Jesus! |
