| Negima : Another Story -------------------------------------------------- | Chapter 5 : Love For Battle? Or Battle For Love? | -------------------------------------------------- It’s the last night of Mahora Festival. The war with Chao's army still going on as the mages of Mahora try to beat the sense out of it. Among them is a high school student, Takane D. Goodman. Since all the mage's hands are full, Takane only get support from her junior, Mei Sakura. Takane : How was it? Mei : (blasting a robot)We can't get any help for now... Takane : God, a lot of robots out there... Takane calls out her shadow followers and blows all robots around her. Indeed, the students giving a decent help as well, but the robots just keeps coming and coming. Takane : (angry)Aghh...this is not good!!! Takane is too angry, and she didn't notice that there are several robots already aim her, either to be stripped or being teleported to 3 hours later. When Mei notice it, it was almost too late. Mei : Onee-sama!!!! Smokes all over. When the smokes gone, Takane is out of sight. Mei thought that Takane's already gone to 3 hours later, but she gets it wrong. When other students pointing something up the sky, she looks at it. A shonen with wings is flying, as he holds Takane on his hand. ???? : Are you alright, Ojou-chan? Takane : (surprised)Yes... ???? : Please hold out a little while longer. Takane : Okay... That shonen start to cast 200 arrows of ice, blasting most of the robots around that area. Takane is amazed, as she never see a powerful and charming mage like him before. That shonen flys down, and put Takane on the ground. ???? : That should hold them for a while... Takane : (blush)Thank you... ???? : Nah, don't mention it... Mei : (running)Onee-sama!!! Are you alright? Takane : I'm fine... ???? : I should get going... Takane : Wait! My name is Takane D. Goodman. At least tell me your name. ???? : Well, it's rude not respond when a Lady ask my name. I'm Shirotakusa Koumori. You can call me Takusa. Takane : (Blush)Takusa-sama... we will meet again, are we? Takusa : (Smiling)As our fate crossed. We study in same academy, so we will meet one way or another. Then, farewell Takane-chan. Takusa flapped his wings, as he take flight to other place. One of the feather falls down and it lands on Takane's hand. Mei : Onee-sama, I never see that person before in our academy. Who is he? Takane : (looking at the feather)Beats me... That was several days ago. It's just another morning for Takane as she looking at the white feather that she found several days ago. Takusa whereabouts is still unknown. She tried to ask around boys school, but they never known someone with name Takusa. That guy can't be a teacher also (yeah, and now we got Negi...), but she still ask around just in case. It still result nothing. As she walk to school with a lot of sigh, Mei is running towards her. Mei : Onee-sama!!! Takane : Ah, good morning, Mei...(sigh) Mei : Onee-sama, you still go sighing? Takane : I can't find Takusa-sama. He said that he is study in the academy also, but he's nowhere to be found...(sigh) Mei : Ah, I already found him, Onee-sama. Takane : Eh? Back to 3-A Class, the sports group is having gossip chatting about what happen yesterday. Yuna is just arrived as they start to 'charge' her. Yuna : Ah, good morning, all of you. Makie : Yuna...(grining)did you had fun yesterday? Yuna : (blush)What..what are you talking about? Ako : We're talking about this! Ako shows a picture on her phone. It's the picture of Yuna on Takusa's shoulder at indoor court yesterday. Yuna : (stunned)Wh...where did you get that??!!! Makie : (smiling)From Mahora Doggy Team Member. Makie pointing at Kazumi, as Kazumi show her thumb. Makie : So, how was it? Yuna : (blush)'How was it' what? Ako : Takusa-san comes to soccer practice too yesterday, but he never do something like that to me... Akira : Well, at least Yuna can cure her overprotective habit on her father... Yuna : (blush)What are you saying, Akira... Makie : (grining)Let me ask it in different way. Do you like Takusa-san? Yuna : (running)I had enough!!! Yuna is running to the door when the sports group tries to catch her. She's not looking front. Don't know it a good or bad thing, but she's stumbled over Takusa who is just coming to class. However, she's not falling down, since Takusa catches her with both of his hands. Takusa : (smiling)Good morning, Yuna-chan. Are you alright? Yuna : (blush)Mo...morning...I'm...alright... Moving a little bit forward, Takusa joining Asuna and the group who arrive earlier. Takusa : Hey, I walk to the class earlier and there's a lot of student who is following me. What was that all about? Asuna : Well, that's what you get for being 'super utility player'. Takusa : 'Super utility player'? Setsuna : You're going one club to another and do something incredible along the way. Of course, they called you 'super utility player'. Takusa : I'm just doing something right over here and there... Konoka : Takusa-kun, did you decide to join any club? Takusa : I'm guess I'll join Go-Home Club... Asuna : That's not offically a club... Takusa : I'm only here until summer's break, so I can't do a thing if I join any club. Adds more...(looking at Chisame) I will be on the same club as Chisame. Takusa notice that Chisame kept looking at him. As he look back, Chisame's looking somewhere else. Asuna's looking at Takusa, and sighing. Takusa : What wrong? Asuna : Well...this things should be said by Chisame, but I guess Chisame will never spoke this in front of you... Takusa : Hmmm..? Asuna : You will break a lot of girl's heart if you keep acting this way. Takusa : Chisame-san should said this things? Why? Asuna : We got a similar case with our 10 year-old teacher. Takusa : Negi-kun? Not bad for a kid... Asuna : Yeah. He also running around with his teenage form in Mahora Festival, just to add more problems. Konoka : Didn't Negi-kun change to teenage form so you can practice for your date? Asuna : (Blush)Hey, don't talk about that!!! Takusa : (grining)So, you like him too... Konoka : You got it wrong. She practice with Negi so she can go out with Takahata- sensei(smiling) Asuna : (Blush)KONOKA!!! Takusa : (grining)Well chosen, Takahata is still single... Asuna : (Blush)Hey!!! Another day, another bellring. Negi enters the class at the last period. As they get ready to go back... Takusa : Ah, Negi-kun, do you have time after this? Negi : I don't think I have. Master Evan said that he want to train me today. Takusa : Don't worry about that. Just said that I 'borrowed' you for today. Negi : (thinking)...okay. What's up? Takusa : Konoka-san said that you have permisson to bypass a guardian at underground of Library Island. Negi : Oh, that dra... Takusa : Shh...don't said that aloud... Takusa explained his situation to Negi as they take a walk there. In the mean time, Takane is hanging out at the entrance of middle high school. From what she heard from Mei this morning, Takusa is studying at middle high in class 3-A. She waited there, so she can meet Takusa again, or at least have a look at that face. Mei is already out from class and she saw Takane waiting at the entrance. Mei : Onee-sama!!! Takane : Ah, Mei-chan. Mei : Are you waiting for me? Takane : (scratching cheek)Well... Mei : Wait a second...On second thought, maybe I should be going... Takane : Why? Mei : (smiling)I will be a hindrance, right? Takane : (Blush)No, it's not that... Mei : (Running)Bye bye... Mei is taking off, as she know what's on her senior's mind. Takane's just smiling and a little bit glad to have an understandable friend like Mei. As her mind running with thoughts... Takusa : Takane-chan!!! Takane turns her head and saw him, the person who save her back in Mahora Festival. Takane : (blush)...Takusa-sama... Negi : Takusa-san, you know Takane-san? Takusa : I meet her when we fight against Chao's army. She sort of in danger when I saw her, so I save her from being taken out by the robots. Negi : I see... Takusa : Anyway, are you waiting for someone, Takane-chan? Takane : (blush)I'm waiting for you, actually... Takusa scratching his head. Takusa : (smiling)Are you free now? Takane : (blush)Yes...yes!!! Takusa : Do you want to follow us? Takane : Eh? With additional member, they move themselves to the Library Island. Takane is quite amazed actually, since she never go to that part of Library Island. That part of Library Island is forbidden even for mage students. Takane : What a beatiful view... Takusa : Amazing, isn't it? I built this place around 400 years ago, and it still stands up until today. Takane : (shocked)400 years ago?!! I thought that descendant from Bird Tribe have only 200 year lifespan... Takusa : You're right, but I also heritaged a vampire bloodline. Takane : Vampire?!!! Wait a minute...(thinking) Takusa-sama, are you... perhaps Eagle von Dracula, Dark Evangel's master? Takusa : I am. Takane got silenced. She got a lot of things running on her mind, as Takusa's talking to Negi. Takusa : Negi, why you buy several fried chicken from fast-food stall earlier? Negi : (scratching head) There are some reason... Takusa : You want to use it to bypass the guardian? Negi : Nah, that's not it... Takane : (overheard)Guardian? What guardian? Suddenly, the guardian flys over to the big door in front of them. Takane : (rambled)That...that...that's...a DRAGON!!! Takane hides at the back of Takusa, scared. Negi : Don't worry, Takane-san. This dragon will not harm people. Takusa : (smiling)She only do his job, so as long we don't disturb her, she will not attack us. Takane : (shiver)But...but... Takusa : Negi, let's do this quick. Negi : You're right. Negi take the invitation pass that he got from the 'tenant' and show it to the dragon. Dragon : You can pass. Negi : Thank you.(look at Takusa)Let's go. They walk pass the door as Takane still clutching over Takusa. Takusa : You're really that scared, are you? Takane : (let go)Ah.. um... Negi : (smiling)I'm surprised too, since all this time I see Takane-san as a strong willed person... As they walk inside, Takane's still have much things on her mind. She looked at Takusa, and never expected that Takusa is someone like that. Takusa : What is it? Takane : (blush) Nothing... I'm just amazed that your personality is much more different then your reputation... Takusa : (scratching head) I've heard something like that before... Takane : As Dark Evangel's master and The Person Who Knows Too Much, your behaviour is complete opposite then Dark Evangel. Negi : The Person Who Knows Too Much? Takusa : They called me by that name because my knowledge. I can remember things in a flash, you see. Adds with my love for thinking, studying, 500 years of experience of life, and you got information that's more Yue's Sekai Zue. Negi : You telling me that you had more knowledge then Sekai Zue? Then, you are total genius! Takusa : You're right, but it can be a sin too... Takane : A sin? Suddenly a voice comes out from nowhere. ???? : I see that you're finally here, Takusa-san. Takusa : (smile)I never thought that you are the one who stays here... ???? : You're the one who give the offer, right? As they walk to the big space upfront, someone is waiting at the end. Takusa : Long time no see, Alberio Imma. Colonel : Call me Colonel Sanders. And... (suddenly notice)Negi, is that what I think it is? Negi : Yes, you like this, right? Using floating magic, Colonel is taking the fried chicken that Negi buys earlier. Takusa : (laughing)You're just living in Old World for 10 years and you are 'falling in love' with fried chicken? You're weird... Colonel : Talk all you want. You can't change my resolve. Takane : Hey, are you really Alberio Imma of Ala Rubra? Colonel : (angry)Call me Colonel! Takane : (sweat)Colonel-san.... Colonel is smiling, before having a piece of fried chicken. Takane : (sweat)I just see 2 famous people and my mind is getting dizzy... Negi : So, you had befriends with Colonel-san? Takusa : Yes. I meet other Ala Rubra members too, even though only once. Negi : Then, you have meet my father? Takusa : Nagi?(laughing)That idiot... I had fun with him... Negi : Fun? Takusa : Let's just say that if all of Ala Rubra team member taking on me all at once, they can beat me. Takane : I remembered that you have fight them once. Negi : Really? Takane : It's written in Mage World History. Because of unreliable information recieved by both Ala Rubra and Hi- Daylight Walkers, they almost engaged in the most fearsome battle in existance. Takusa : You're bookworm type? You seems to know much about me... Takane : (blush)No...it's just to kill my curiosity... Takusa : Back then, other member of Hi-Daylight Walkers want to get involve too, but I had to hold them off since the info that we got has flaws in it. Negi : What was that info about? Takusa : I can't remember, but because of that, your father gets very angry. I arranged a meeting with Ala Rubra, try to negotiate with them, but... Colonel : ...Nagi and the other idiot talks with their punch. Takusa : Ah, Colonel-san, finish your fried chicken already? Colonel : Nevermind about that. Takusa : Luckily, you and Zect has more brains then brawns. I like to make friends with smart people, and Colonel is one of them. They spent some time in there, having tea and gazing at the waterfall. Colonel : Takusa-san, you still not telling me the real reason why you're here. Takusa : I just want a place to crash in, but...yes, there is other reason. It's all about the World Tree. Negi : World Tree? Takusa : Follow me, let me show you something. Takusa carries Takane before jumping down the waterfall. Negi and Colonel jumps over afterwards. Takane : I can fly too, you know... Takusa : (smiling)You like this way better, don't you? Takane : (blush)It's not like that... They landed to the bottom, which the view is familiar with Negi. Negi : Is this 30th Lower Ground of Library Island? Takusa : You know it? Negi : (sweat)Some of the students and I sort of falling to this place... Takusa : What's Konoemon doing? I told him that this place is absolute forbidden to others... Negi : Don't get upset. If you want to blame someone, then blame me. They follow Takusa to the small waterfall somewhere around. There's a bookshelf near that waterfall, and Takusa rearranged back some books. Suddenly, that waterfall stops pouring water, revealing a secret passage at the back. As they moved deeper inside, Takane's looking at Takusa face. It's different then before, where Takusa get more serious. She want to ask a few questions actually, but that face makes her kept silenced. Takusa : Hey, did all of you know about the energy container below World Tree? Negi : I've been there once. That container used to keep World Tree's power everytime it comes at it's peek. Takusa : I plant World Tree 400 years ago as I built Library Island. At beginning, I want to use the World Tree's energy in my research. Something happen back then, and I had to use it to contain 'something'. Colonel : I've been wondering myself why that container needs to be place under World Tree... Takusa : Well, check this out. They're now under the container below the World Tree. Negi's looking above. The flash that being emitted from the energy is not shiny as the one he had seen before. He looked back down, and saw a box with a lot of seal. It's moving fiercely, like there's something want to get out from inside. The energy from World Tree is directed to that box, seems to kept that box closed. Takane : What was that? Takusa : That's the box with Count Dracula's ashes inside. Colonel : (stunned)What? You gotta be kidding me!!! Takusa : A certain amount of huge energy need to keep the box locked. So, after I burn Victor to ashes, I kept him inside that box and put a seal so he will never revived again. Takane : Is he immortal or something? Takusa : Unlike vampire that we seen today, he got an incredible recovery ability, where he can exist in any form possible. I can't kill him since he absorb so much blood from people. Negi : (Thinking)Takusa-san, I've been wondering... Takusa : Hmm? Negi : Is Count Dracula related you? Takusa : Oh, why makes you think that? Negi : Well, you're born 500 years ago, and Dracula clan is not exist at that time. You're one of 2 dracula that ever exist with bloodline heritage, and one of them is Count Dracula. You also share a same family name with him. Takusa : Sharp thinking you got there. Yeah, I hate to admit it, but that good-for- nothing is my father. Negi : Your father?!!! Takane : I see, that why... Takusa : What? Takane : Nothing, it's just that your face will change whenever we talk about your father. Takusa : (smiling)Well, let bygones be bygones... Suddenly, the box is jumping wildly. Takusa : Try to get out? No way, DAD!!! Takusa pulls out his wings. Takusa : Colonel, barriers up! Protect those two also! Colonel puts up a barrier. Takusa pulls up his sleeve, where 3 wierd seal can be seen on his arm. After chanting, the seal are released and Takusa flying towards the energy container. Takane : Colonel-san, what is the seal on his arm? Colonel : That is a seal specially designed to contain powerful magic like the one he has. (looking at Negi)Negi-kun, are you alright? Negi is kneeling down, with a lot of sweating. Negi : Is...is this his true power? I can't stand by just feeling it... Colonel : That's because you're young. I put this barrier just so we can overcome his power sense. If I pull out this barrier, your nose, eyes and and ears might be bleeding. Takane : I never imagine one people had such power... Colonel : That's just half of it.... Negi/Takane : WHAT??!!! As they doing a serious discussion, Takusa trys to pull out his power to restore the energy container. With another wierd chanting, he channel his energy to recover what had been lost during Mahora Festival. It's really hard work until Takusa start to sweat, but he manage to put the sealed box to peace. Takusa flys down back to the group. Takusa : Phew! It's been a while since I use all my power... Colonel : So, how was it? Takusa : (put back the seal)Chao use a lot of energy back during Mahora Festival and I had to recover it back. It will be a a long while before that box can shake off again. Colonel : I see... Takusa : Colonel, I will teach you how this energy container works. I want you to guard this place and don't let anyone in unless it's an emergency. Colonel : I must do it, right? Since I stay at your place... Takusa : (smiling)Yes, that will be your rent fee. As for Negi-kun and Takane-chan, keep this a secret. I don't want anyone else out there doing something stupid like reviving back Count Dracula just to obtain his power or something like that... Negi/Takane : Understood. It's already night time when they are out from Library Island. Negi already goes to Evan's Resthouse since he's late for his training. As for Takane, she walks to dorm by Sakura Boulevard, with Takusa by her side. Takane : (blush)No need to send me home... Takusa : Nope, it's my responsibility for taking you evening time. The scene got silent for a moment. A soft breeze blows, bringing a sweet scent of sakura flower along the road. Even though it's dark, the moonlight shining over sakura tree, making it a beautiful scenery. Takane : Takusa-sama... Takusa : Yes? Takane : (blush)You know...from the 1st time I meet you... Takusa : Hmm? Takane : (blush)...I think I'm...fell in love...with you... Stronger wind blows, with sakura flower flys all over the place. Takusa : (scratching head)Is this a love confession? Takane : (blush)Yes... Takusa : You still accept me after you know who I am? Takane : (blush)Yes. Colonel already told me about your 'Darkside'. Takusa : (sigh)Then, let me add something more. Takane : Hmm? Takusa : I've been married 3 times in my life. One of them is human, where she died normally as a human. I found a 2nd one which is a vampire, but I had to kill her since it's my mistake of trusting her so much. As for 3rd, she is a human, but the only person who I change to vampire all my life. She can't accept her fate and end up suiciding herself. Takane : No way... Takusa : You still want to love me after all of that? Takane : (silence)I don't care, even if I had to be bitten by you in the process. You even entrusted me, a normal mage student to kept the secret about your father. Takusa : (sigh)You're still so young... The wind had stopped. There's still sakura flower floats here and there. Takusa : Did you had any dream? Takane : (blush)Y...yes! I want to be Magister Magi someday. Takusa : Then, let's make a promise. Takusa pulls out his small finger. Takusa : Chase your dream of becoming Magister Magi. 2 years after you becoming Magister Magi, I will come to meet you again. If you still want to be my lover by that time, I will accept you. Takane : (blush)...really? Takusa : This is the only way I can get you to have a long thought about what you want to do with your life. I don't want to see anyone died anymore because of me. Takane pulls out her small finger and tied it with Takusa. Takane : (blush)Then, it's a promise...
