not done yet...like pretty much all my other items. *blushes*
"On, two, three." her jump off the ground resulted in a two second flight ending by falling on her face. "owe," Yuna propped herself up on her elbows and rubbed the wrist of her nearby wing. "Well that didn't work." She looked up at the sky where she could see some birds flying silhouetted against the sky. Birds or birdlings she wasn't sure, either way they were way better at flying that she was. not that she was that different from then. Her wings were every bit as long and strong as theirs. Stronger and could stand up to more. but she just hadn't gotten the hang of flying, not for twenty years. Forget flying she couldn't even get off the ground. Not that she didn't have plenty of examples, she felt as though she was surrounded by the most talented birdlings in the entire aerspace. She watch the sun where it had risen partially up the cliff, that meant it was time to eat.
|I'm, gonna eat your portion, Yun."
Yuna jumped onto a chair and put her hands over her food. Her brother attempted to push her off. Yuna brought one of her wings down hard on his head.
"Yuna, you'll give him a concussion if you keep doing that."
"If I don't I'll end up anorexic."
The boy put up his hand, "I think you could use less energy." Yuna added pressure, forcing his face further onto his food.
"Yuna, you're too strong to behave like that. You could really hurt someone.|"
Yuna folded her wings behind herself and sat properly in her chair.
"Honestly child, I can't find any logical reason why you can't fly. all three of your sisters and even your brother can fly like they learn that before they could walk."
"I'm not my siblings."
"Well, you aren't putting enough work into it."
Yuna bit her tongue, there was no pint in mentioning to her that the reason she was so strong was that she spent every waking moment when she was alone working with her wings in an effort to fly. Anytime she had pointed this out it didn't change anything in the conversation that they had every morning. The only thing that trumped the morning conversation would be the ever repeating one that always took place at supper.
"And please tie your hair up. It probably gets tangles in your wings."
"I'll do that when I can fly."
"You wont' fly until you tie it up."
"you fight like girls."
The boys head was hit by two different wings.
"I should get to work."
"Bring home some of those rich men you see."
"Mom!"
"|Not for you silly."
"I know," Yuna stuffed the last of her food into her mouth. She stood, her brother latched to her leg.
"I'm gonna go and meet there big shot guys too."Yuna grabbed his arms and began to pry him off,"No, I've got enough to deal with at work without you being there."
"What do you have to deal with? If anyone bugs you, you just pound them with your wings."
"Office work isn't solved as easy as that. " She pushed him to her ankles then stepped out of his embrace. Nothing was if that were the case then the other things would be different.
She walked over to the wall where the ladder was kept. Her mother wasn't very happy that they stile had any reason to keep it. Everyone else in the family could fly. She placed the ladder and climbed up to the bedrooms. A mess of feathers in one nest told her that one of her sisters wasn't up yet. The youngest of the older three by the condition of the feathers. She was the most unkept of the girls. Not devoting the hours to preen the feathers as the oldest sister or even the simple routine of the second sister. Yuna sighed and walked toward her nest. She knew the reason. Serena was lazy. Far too lazy to mimic her vain sister Lanee, and since Yuna and Maru's routine was the same, with the exception of Yuna's added exercise, she would never consider their method and of course their mother babied her enough for her to not see any need to change.
Yuna's nest was the furthest from the window. A couple precious books were her only real personal items a couple of feather combs sat on the side with a few dresses folded underneath. She didn't have any gowns. There was no point when she couldn't fly. Her gaze moved for a moment to the rod where her sisters and mother's dresses and gowns hung neatly. She didn't need a spot on the rod she couldn't go to a sky ball anyway. She picked up her identification tag. She sighed . Another day requiring a two hour walk to work. The trip would be considerably easier if she didn't have to climb the cliff. She turned and walked back to the ladder, might as well get it over with, again.
