I wrote advertising copy and poetry in my teens and 20's, children's stories in my 30's and had a very occasional humorous article published in a very small magazine in my 40's. Now in my late 50's I just write. I'm working on a couple of children's books, I do a bit of blogging and I've got a novel with characters but no real outline or plot started thanks to nanowrimo.
I like writing. I am happier when I write, so I write.
I'm working on the discipline of beginnings, middles and ends, including as many edits as it takes to come up with a finished product. I have notebooks full of wonderful two page entrees which seem to exist in a total vacuum. What I'd like is a body of work, published or not, that my grandchildren might use as an example that's it's absolutely possible to write or follow any dream from it's beginning to completion.
