‘Arranged Love’ is set on the outskirts of Hinesville, GA starting in the spring of 1861 as a young lady named Brittney is ordered by her father to marry a man that has been rumored to be a ladies’ man. Brittney does as she is ordered but hardly wants anything do with her husband, Sly. They go on for a couple of months almost becoming friends when Brittney discovers that she does have feelings for him. The night before Sly leaves to fight at Fort Pulaski, they consummate their marriage and then it is one thing after another as Brittney deals with doubting that Sly loves her as she finds out that they are going to have a baby. Her father starts having chest pains. Sly is injured as the Fort he was stationed at was attacked and Brittney feared that he had been killed because there was no communication. But the clouds have silver linings as he returns to her a couple of weeks before the birth of their son. The drama does not end here, though. Three months after, Brittney is dealing with her father and her husband missing, a miscarriage, and the Federalist army takes their house to use as an army hospital. She has dealt with enough, right? |
