Staring into her eyes, my eyes,
That exact shade of hazel peppered with green,
But hers were swelled up and red,
With tears streaking her foundation painted face.
I mopped up her tears pouring out of her eyes
blotching her mascara.
I put my arms around her and her face fell into my chest,
My shirt becoming soaked with her tears
as my hand stroked her mass of black hair,
I felt tears in the back of my throat -
but that was where they stayed.
I had to stay strong for my big sister,
I held her as I watched someone who was so - tough,
Someone whose shoulder I used to cry on,
She rested in my arms as she turned into what she felt inside.
I watched with pain as I saw my strong big sister retract into a lost little girl.
