In this story a women struggles to let go and actually "sees" her dead boyfriend.
There was no music or candles.
There was no perfect starry night.
Instead, thunder exploded in the sky, making the empty apartment gently shudder.
The only light source illuminating the darkness was the bathroom light which I had forgotten to shut off. But that didn't matter. Shutting off the light only would have wasted further time we could've spent together. Instead, we layed on the sheetless mattress. His arms were wrapped around my waist so tight. But also, so gentle. I could feel the pounding of his heart drum against my back. His large, rough hands moved down my shoulder all the way to my fingertips, eventually filling the gaps in between my fingers. The room was completely silent except for the sound of his slow breathing echoeing in my ear.
It was just him and I.
There was not a single music note played.
Nor, a single candle lit.
The stars in the sky had been hidden by a dark, rain-filled cloud.
But it was the moment of my life.
I re-live this moment each passing night.
And when I wake up to the morning sun, I am only tortured because I find myself completely alone. The only thing that lies next to me, is an empty wine bottle and more than a dozen used kleenix's. That's when it clicks once again. He's gone.

I visit him everyday. Usually, I just set one rose a on top of his gravestone. Then leave in silence. But tonight, is different. My hands are trembling. My lips are quivering. I can hear my own heart pounding. And then everything suddenly grows colder. I realize, I'm not alone. He's here.
My legs give out and suddenly I fall to my knees. Rain begins to pour all around me. My eyes close tightly. "I can't do this anymore. You're not here! I'm never going to be able to feel your skin again, or look at your face again. You only exist in my dreams now and at first I loved that, because that meant that I could see you again every night. I didn't have to say goodbye yet. But now it's torturing me because when I wake up, you're gone!.... please just,... just let me say goodbye" I said, screaming. "I love you, forever"
The coldness grew even stronger.
Rain fell harder with each passing moment.
I closed my eyes even tighter.
And then suddenly, I heard his voice in the back of my head. "Forever and always, I love you."
My head dropped. And I began bawling but still managed to repeat, " Forever and always."
