Editorial about conspiracy in Hip-Hop. |
[Introduction]
Pretty much everybody who knows me, knows that I am not the biggest Nicki Minaj fan. I am guilty though, because I liked her years before the booty pads and breast implants, when she was just an up & coming MC from Queens, NY. After a while I noticed her on tracks with Lil Wayne and her voice started changing and she began to do this yelling thing... I became flustered. I knew it was another rapper being commercialized. It's not her fault though. You see, Nicki Minaj is a multi-million dollar gimmick. She raps & targets young girls by cross marketing the Barbie brand and influencing provocative behavior just for record & ringtone sales. This conspiracy is powered by the "big, bad record companies" that believe that image is everything and making millions of dollars selling sex to Black teens is acceptable. WAKE UP! Situations similar to this are designed to keep the image of the Hip-Hop culture negative, as well as the image of Black women as a whole. Why can't the female MC be positive? Like say Lauryn Hill for instance.....And we all wonder why Lauryn Hill hasn't come out with any new material... She'd probably have to sex it up a bit! Millions of teenage girls idolize this sex symbol while she distorts their moral perception, which leads to risky behavior & so on & so forth! You get the picture.... The industry is brutal and full of false hopes & dreams. I guess you really have to sell your soul just to be famous. Even if it means misleading youth and damaging the masses. It's a damn shame & she should be ashamed........
